What's your favorite Christmas themed video game?
And why is it Twisted Metal for the Playstation 1?
I bet you forgot that game was Christmas themed, didn't you!
Toejam and Earl on Sega Genesis is another great one that you don't typically think of as a Christmas game, but Santa is in it and he gives you presents so it must be Christmas.

NIGHTS on the Saturn is another definite one. "Dusty Diamond Zone" from Sonic 3D Blast always did it for me, too (especially the OST).
But since die hard and home alone are "Christmas movies" to most people, then i am going with Home Alone for Sega Genesis. Its not the LJN crapola!
Also, Twisted Metal 3's North pole level let you blow up Santa's house, and even use it as a special weapon.
1. 8-Bit Xmas 2010
2. 8-Bit Xmas 2016
3. We Wish You a Merry Christmas (game most capable of putting you in the holiday spirit)
Christmas NiGHTS might be on the list if I could play it. Videos seem cool, but I don't have a Saturn.
I can't think of tons of others (8-bit Xmas, Home Alone, Die Hard?). I remember Elf Bowling was big for a minute, but that was terrible.
Well, my favorite full-on Christmas themed game is Nightmare Before Xmas. But if all's that's required is a cameo appearance by Jolly ol' Saint Nick, I'd have to give it to Secret of Mana.
I had no idea there was a Nightmare Before Christmas game.
James Pond 2: Codename Robocod
Oh man, I used to love that game. Totally forgot about it. What system was that on? I just remember renting it a lot as a kid.

Genesis is the most well know, but I think there was a SNES port as well.
Edit: Actually, it was ported to just about everything except NES.
I'm seeing Super James Pond for SNES and a port of James Pond 2 on PS1. It could have been either one, I dunno.
Super James Pond is the SNES version of James Pond 2.
Cool, it's really cheap on ebay so I might pick that up. I love playing games from my childhood that I've forgotten about.
Best of luck. I too had fond memories of renting this exact game back when I was a kid. Played it as an adult and it kinda lost it's appeal/mystique. I was kinda bummed about it. I hope you're able to return to it and enjoy it, though!
Other than the same pack-in pretty much everyone had as a kid (SMB/DH), I only had two games on my original NES: King of Kings, Super Mario Bros 3. Both were Christmas presents but only one had a Christmas-theme.

"Full-on Christmas themed?" Isn't there at least a little bit of Halloween mixed in there?
Yeah, I'd be interested to hear. Another game that got me like that was Uniracers. Anyway, since then I've tried to temper my expectations for games that I remember playing only as a kid, lol
What's wrong with Uniracers? I love that one.
King of Kings - Wisdom Tree

And isn't the Wise Men game the only one actually set around Christmas?

Yes, but most games listed here only have a Christmas-themed level or area while this had an entire Christmas-themed game and the label art was a manger scene. It plays a rendition of "We, Three Kings" incessantly, in that game mode but somehow I still liked the music.
