Space Ace SNES orginal box artwork

Hey, I've come across something pretty interesting. This is the orginal box artwork for Space Ace. The owner claims he acquired it (amongst other things) from Empire Interactive when they were clearing out the North Fincley office.

It measures 66cm x 51cm (26 inch x 20 inch) and is painted on hard card. My question is, does anyone know who painted it?

    Mmmmmmm not necessarily? he created the franchise and the art for the arcade game, but this could very well have just been a rando contractor since this artwork is for the home console ports. No saying its for sure not DB, just that it would still make sense if it wasnt.

    Most likely it was a UK artist contracted to do it. It's a fantastic peice! (And it's a friend of mine, I don't actually own it)

    Yes it's only on the border. There's a slight mark on the painting.

    My guess is an instaff artist of Don Bluth productions.

    Same as most Muppets or Simpsons pieces.

    Always been a fan of Don Bluth stuff and that art is beautiful. I'd love to see the comparable Dragon's Lair art too.

    I know it's a poor quality image, but it's the only image of the illustration the owner has made public so I'm not sure how you plan on obtaining another image of the painting, short of breaking into his house
