  • Wow the Celtics can't rebound for shit. I think the Bulls can pull this off but I ain't sold yet. I didn't think the Celtics were very good, but I didn't think the Bulls could make it a series. I guess when your best player is 5'9 you are going to have a bad time.
  • The Bulls are a scary 8th seed.

Glad the Raptors were able to recover and even up the series. The Bucks are an impressive young team.

4-0 vs the Cavs. Cavs took the coward way out and gave up the 1 seed on purpose to avoid them.

Let's be honest, the Cavs will be repping the East again. LeBron does not have any competition in the East, he is just too good.

  • I agree with you. Chicago matches up well against Cleveland and they know it. And if Boston does make it through this series and they do face off in the Eastern Conference finals, they're not an especially intimidating # 1 seed.

    probably

because they avoided chicago round 1 by losing on purpose. Of course cleveland will beat indiana and  bucks/raptors winner. Cleveland hasnt been good post allstar break and still not good in the playoffs. Chicago has been red hot

  • I still don't know that I feel we can say for certain that Cleveland purposely tanked to avoid Chicago. There was no way of telling until the last day or two of the season what the bottom seeding in the East would be. Chicago easily could have become #7, or Miami easily could have been #8 and Chicago could have missed the Playoffs all together. Toronto surged at the end to be #3, it looked like it was going to be Washington the last month or so. It's not like the Cavaliers really knew for certain what anyone elses seed was going to be. It all shook up the final couple of days.
  • Also I like little superstitions in basketball, going into this series I believe Chicago had a massive winning streak going of games played on TNT, for some reason when the Bulls play on TNT, all year they have not lost. I was worried about this Boston series when I looked at the schedule and saw both of Boston's home games were on TNT.

and when his sister dies the day before the playoffs start... I don't think it's a basketball issue right now. The guys all look deflated. Easy to understand why.
  • Refs tried all they could to give the thunder game 2

Rockets too good. Harden closed it out great. Clutch 3s.

Westbrook brick fest the whole 4th quarter. Single handidly shot the thunder to a loss. Also went for a layup when they needed a 3 to get the 50 point game lmao

I want to know the number of shots teammates got in the 4th. Had to be no more than 3.

    Go rockets!!

    4th quarter:

    Westbrook - 4/17

    Rest of Team - 3/9

  • 51 points on 43 shots. Inefficient as hell.

Story of his entire year. I haven't looked recently, but he isn't even in the top 50 in PPS or eFG%. For that to be the case coupled with his historic usage rate, it is really sad.

Even worse, is that OKC has a nice team. If I was picking players for a draft and only players from the Rockets and Thunder are available, and Harden and Westbrook aren't choosable, the first three guys taken are guys from OKC. That is why Harden is the MVP, imo.

And 6 of those 9 attempts were at the beginning of the quarter with him on the bench. Lol

Just saw a tweet. Westbrook most missed shots in a 4th quarter in playoff history(14). 4/18

The sad thing is he matched harden in ft attempts as well. Harden had 2 more because of an intentional foul with 1.9 seconds left. Westbrook 15/18 from the line . Harden 18/20

  • Wonder if PG13 is done with the Pacers after this season. 26 pt lead at the half choked away, ouch. C'mon Raptors! I'm a Chicago guy through and through but for some reason I have some kind of affinity for Toronto sports (never lived or been there, but if the Blue Jays, Leafs, or Raps are in I root for them as a "second team") so I really want them to advance.
  • With Rondo out, this is a completely different Chicago team. Terrible timing for them, but it's about time the Celtics catch a break (no pun intended). It seems like every year the C's are the ones catching the injury bug. Losing Avery Bradley last season in game 1 against the Hawks sucked. Hopefully we can stay healthy and advance.

Side note: Not playing Amir and inserting Gerald Green was a great adjustment.
  • Yep Rondo was a great QB for our offense. Jimmy wasn't hitting anything though so the Bulls were basically out two starters. I don't think the Bulls get through the first round, but wouldn't have mattered since the Hawks/Wiz absolutely own them and the Cavs are the East rep by default in the finals.

I guess different opinions makes sports great but i woulf take anyone on okc except russ until about pick 7
  • Ugh the Bulls continue their bad offense without Rondo. The sweep was looking pretty likely and now I don't think we win another game.
  • Isaiah Thomas looks like a completely different person since his trip to see his family. He's got the bounce back in his step and he's out there smiling again.

Jimmy shot more free throws than the entire Celtics team tonight. Several calls were questionable at best. Oh well, a win is a win, and the series is knotted up

I enjoyed Crowder getting called for a technical for GETTING ELBOWED IN THE FACE. Refs were bad tonight, but Celts overcame them, which is needed in the playoffs. Home teams always get ref home cooking a game or two a series at least.

How many technicals did Crowder have tonight?

edit: Anybody see that Westbrook postgame? Respect to him for not letting that guy break the team off. "Legit" question smh.
  • Smart, Thomas, and Crowder all got techs tonight. Thomas' was the most unwarranted of the lot. He got T'd up for telling MCW that he couldn't guard him (following a play where IT blew past him for a layup)

I get that home teams are going to get preferential treatment, but it was out of hand tonight. They even allowed a defensive goaltend in the first half. Rozier's shot clearly hit the backboard before the defender got a hand on it.

Crowder got T'd up for throwing Lopez's shoe, lol. I think he's talking about the Smart/Butler double tech.

I'm asking for Crowder though. Did he get one before or after throwing RoLo's shoe (legit question I may have missed it)? Because that definitely deserved a tech. Smart and Jimmy both got a tech so wash that out. I agree with IT's being bs. Like Hamster said, both teams had homecooking in this series.

Edit: nvm see you responded. Gotcha.

meh thats just westbrook posturing  after a loss. He says the same shit when asked about his line. Especially when he loses. Yeah you dont care about your line when your team is gunning for it every first quarter to get you rebounds and assists.

Houston playing like crap this series and still handling them. Thunder have plenty of players. If he has such a bad supporting cast then how come he plays great for 3 quarters with that cast but cant late? shot jacker. He cost his team game 2 and todays game with his shots. Jesus, the decision making was poor.

Houston played the worst final 2 minutes of basketball Ive seen today and overcome it somehow. The rockets play this way vs san antonio, then they are getting swept
  • Rockets played terrible again tonight, but still 4-1 series win.

Never seen such poor late game execution and horrendous 3 point shooting all series in my life.

Going to have to be better next series to stand a chance

thank god westbrick is out and dont have to hear the media drooling over his  stat padded triple doubles snymore. Again mr westbrick tonight 2/11 in the 4th quarter. Shot the thunder out of the game again.
  • Hopefully the Rockets can beat the Grizz/Spurs. I would like to see them in the finals against the Cavs and hopefully beat them.
  • I just really hate the whole NBA Awards Show after the playoffs now. Half of the fun of the regular season MVP was seeing how they fared in the playoffs, how they held up to the pressure. So lame that they are trying to turn it into the ESPYs
