Im chalking that one up to Christmas Carol
  • old school claymation frosty FTW
  • Grinch, grew up on it.

Would have said Nightmare but that's a Halloween movie to me.
  • That episode of King of the Hill where Bill sets up that Christmas village for kids, and leaves it up until February.
  • Charlie Brown Christmas is the shit
  • Rudolph, then the year without a Santa Claus.

That was a good one.  I also like the first Mr. Hankey episode in South Park.

  • I remember watching 'Rudolph' and 'Frosty' alot on video. I also enjoyed 'The Year Without a Santa Claus' when it aired on TV. Out of curiosity though, who here remembers 'Robbie the Reindeer'?

Nevermind my last post. I read favorite christmas movie, thinking about movies and not animated specials.

Claymation is the best. And claymation christmas by Will Venton is my favorite animated christmas special.

  • Probably going to have to go with Nightmare before Christmas....Simply because you get some Halloween in there too.

However....This is probably the single greatest still of any Christmas movie ever:

For me Ive always watched Nightmare Before Christmas the week after Halloween. To Christamsy to watch before Halloween but to spooky to watch at Christmas It merges the two holidays perfectly.

  • The holiday special of Bump In The Night was awesome as a kid. I haven't watched it in about a decade but my sister and I used to watch the crap out of the VHS we taped it on to

Ooooh. That's the Mr. Bumpy show right!? I loved that show when I was a kid. Time to do some digging. Thanks for reminding me of that gem!

  • Flintstone Christmas and Santa and the Three Bears always stick to my mind for some reason. I think I've only seen them once. Weird. Must have been a happy time in my life.

Oh hell, i'm gonna be singing that "we're providing security for toys!" song in my head all night now.
  • I've always considered Rudolph as my favorite but the more I watch Arthur Christmas it's been climbing to number 1.
  • Just watch Heman Christmas and Cabbage Patch Kids Christmas. How even knew those were shows?
  • Does this count?

  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town then a Year Without Santa Claus, if more than one of the songs stick then you know that it's a good movie.

    yea this movie

  • If Nightmare Before Christmas counts, then that's my vote. That's overall one of my favourite movies of all time, though.

Beyond that, I would probably pick How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Dr. Seuss animated films/shorts are awesome.

Gotta give Charlie Brown some love, though...

I was actually just about to make a post about Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. The songs are great, the minimalist animation is the UPA studio at its peak, and you can't deny it has seniority, being the first televised Christmas special.

  • Voted Arthur Christmas because that doesn't get nearly as much recognition as it deserves!
