I wait up to 30 minutes depending on the deal (I'll wait much longer for musical equipment than I will Nintendo/SEGA stuff). If after 20 they don't update me, I call. At that point I usually know whether I'm staying or leaving. I've never gotten shafted from CL, surprisingly.
Yuuuuup, if they are ignoring phone calls it is pretty much a done deal at that point.
I always require some type of contact before i head it if more than 25 minutes drive. i always text/email or call them about 30 minutes before the approximate drive time to meet at the designated spot. If they answer I head out at required time to be able to get there, I like to get there 5-10 minutes early anyways and then wait. About10 minutes after designated time if still waiting on them I message/call again saying I'm here and if they are close. If no response I will wait around another 5 minutes and try to contact again, if no response again I will wait around 5 more minutes and then go. Generally if I hear nothing and depending on the deal will only wait 20 minutes with no contact. I once waited about 45 minutes since I drove half hour to Grand Rapids and did contact me around the meet time saying would be late and could reschedule if I didn't want to wait, but was for a mother load type of score and had to get kids in car and just running behind. I've been at a meets and someone else contacted them offerring more or they did research, just regular no shows, those who wanted to up the price in person so have been burned before but its just part of the game. Generally 90 percent of my meets go flawless and never have to wait more than 10 minutes.

I forgot to mention, I have a rule with CL stuff: If they don't answer their phone and I can obviously tell it's a real person/not messing around, I don't bother. Real voice or no deal.

Totally agree with thisabove. I rarely deal with CL much. Almost everytime I have had issues is with CL. I use facebook for sale groups and my wanted ads almost exclusively. Too much competition and people messing around on CL in last few years but do put wanted ads up on CL on occasion and will meet with those who respond and still most of my problems are with CL meets .

Exactly this.
"Yeah, I'll meet you in 45 mins at McDonald's of ABC blvd. I'm in XYZ car."
*gets PM on FB for a better deal, never contacts, you sit in lot for 3 hours*
A couple months ago I was meeting a local from a FB group to give away an RF switch. He asked the group if anyone had one. When I responded he asked me to bring my extra SNES stuff for him to go through. I grabbed a bunch of racks and organizers stuffed with my dupes and accessories. He said he was 15 minutes away when I set up to wait for him at a fast food joint with an outdoor seating area and every 15 minutes he just kept telling me he'd be there soon. Eventually he apologized and said he had to turn around and go back home for something. He asked "how about tomorrow?" I had work straight through to the next weekend where I had three days off, so we arranged to meet the next weekend. I kept all the stuff in my trunk and contacted him early Friday. He didn't contact me until the next day to say that he was out of state and would be back that night. Didn't hear from him. Contacted him Sunday morning and he didn't respond until Monday, when I had work 9-days straight (11.5-hour shifts). Nope. Not even going to ask if he wants to meet another day now.
I was just trying to help out a local who specifically asked other locals if they had one of these for him. Not sure why it's so hard to give it away! I see him on Facebook often but I never respond now. It was pretty disruptive to keep those weekends clear and to babysit the stuff in my car.
On Kijiji the worst things to get rid of are the things you give away. I once put a cordless drill for free, I think 10 people said they'd come to pick it up and didn't show up. I ended up asking for $10 and then someone finally picked it up...
