I just rolled one for laughs, you can imagine my reaction when it actually landed a 20.
Also for OP, got my rpg stuff right here, but you know first I'd actually need to find someone willing to play. Big problem is that there ain't to many good online versions to do D&D with other people he who would be interested. If someone can find a good one I'd be more than happy to do an NA campaign .
Well until a few years ago I stupidly ignored the whole genre because I wasn't so sure about the whole turn based combat. I sure wish I could've gotten my RPG start earlier but hey better late than never!
I gave up recently on JRPGs because I do not have a good track record of finishing them and don't really enjoy them as much as other genres anyway.
As for Roleplaying like tabletop or freeform, I did many chatroom RPs back in the day on MMOs and AOL, among others. But Freeform is a real bitch because without moderation or some stats it can be very subjective. I had many good moments just fall apart on the spot because someone wouldn't 'consent' and if the other players wanted to join in just because they felt like it. They could veto you from the continuity and place you on ignore if they wanted some advantage. Backstabbers. Since other player's threads are often connected by that string, it also ruins other people's experiences. I decided I wasn't going to take other people's shit and gave that up because it was requiring more frustration than joy.
Lastly, it's very time consuming and requires someone who is like-minded and equally capable of producing both compelling events and narrative. For action, you're better off just playing an RPG on the console or reading Lord of the Rings if you want some storyline without buffoons tearing it up.
If ya want to borrow the +6 banhammer you'll have to ask Captn' just in case there's a saving throw, most of the clerics and priests are either dead or on holiday so we're good there.

Is there a way to use Joel's power on this throw?
Well, yyeeaahh... but to do so would doom us all. I say go for it.

So saying RPG game is like saying "Role playing game game"

Hay, why don't you guys RPG? Whats the deal, eh?
Because many of you people don't shower. The card-based and/or RPG game shops need to seriously install trucker showers, and make their use mandatory.
