  • If every single person voted in the United States do you think he would have been elected?

I see so much shit floating around about wanting to get him impeached etc etc etc....It makes America honestly look absolutely fucking ridiculous.

He gets voted in....And now everyone wants him out? What the hell kind of crap is that? It just goes to show how important voting really is......The people who DIDN'T vote are being whiners now because he is elected, well you are part of the problem because you didn't vote against him.

When will the lesson be learned?

But as far as preventing refugees from certain countries where the population is mostly Muslim, I'm all for it. The United States has no obligation to continually bring in refugees in the first place, and to ban one specific group because of a religion that 1. Degrades women. 2. Where their book of guidance literally preaches, "killing all the infidels." Might not be a terrible thing. I mean for one thing, most Muslims in the US would trade the Constitution for Shariah law. They believe the Qur'an should be the highest authority in any government. That scares me. http://mobile.wnd.com/2015/09/pol...

lol.  Uh, no.  wnd for the lose, like always.

No, what you are seeing is the political divide getting wider and deeper.  Obama was the antichrist to the right, who moved even further right to secure Trump.  He'll now push the left further left and we'll get another joker to run against him 2020.  Yay for the death of anything resembling moderation.

nah your just hearing the minority opposition. They are getting the coverage. They want you to think everyone wants him out. Its that kind of coverage that got him elected.

This executive order on immigration was perhaps poorly executed but its being way overblown. 109 people were stopped for question. Of the 109. A couple dozen people were held for further questioning. All this uproar about the "chaos" when it was over was about 20-30 people. On a lesser scale its like when Ive been pulled over by police in arkansas for not breaking any law but to just check me for drugs. They make me get out of my car and lay on a police car while they search my shit. I get no ticket and told to go on my way. Was I pissed? hell yeah. Was it wrong? hell yeah . (if you are in washington country Arkansas, watch yourself BTW)  But its just things that happen. Poorly executed policy and I moved on. Shit happens. 20-30 people inconvenienced doesnt deserve that much protesting and coverage like the world was ending because some people with green cards got held up traveling.

This thing is 120 days for 6 of the 7 countries. Its a political stunt built on a promise like he is going to fix the vetting system. In the most part the vetting system in this country is most likely fine. I believe this was to hault the expediting of syrian refugees. The obama administration was trying to rush as many through the system as possible bypassing some of the red tape. I look at europe and what has happened to those countries with open border refugee policy and I just dont see this action  as that big a deal. Of course there will be annecdotal stories of some family that was inconvenienced by this and theyll be propped up like that happens to everyone.  I do find it disgusting many Democratic party leaders tweeting out that picture of that dead child on the shore from 2015. If only the obama administration would have actually meant what they said after they created that artificial red line to not cross then completely didnt follow through, maybe the situation wouldnt have gotten this bad over there. There is fair blame to go around to both parties.

  • You guys may think I'm crazy, but I think what Trump is doing regarding cracking down on illegal immigration is not much different than what's going on here:

The line that stuck out the most in this regard was "Think you can run this school?  If you could then I wouldn't be here."  Listen, Obama in 2008 was built up by the media and the like as this "rock star", "chosen one", "messiah", the guy who "sends shivers down my leg" (thank you Chris Matthews, I guess to Obama he's more like "Softball"; and let's not forget Keith Obamamann while we're at it  ).  I mean look how he was made to look like Jesus    He had eight years (especially the first two with D's having the House/Senate) to show us how it's done.

As for how Trump overcame all odds to actually win (for the longest time I just saw him as this weird/odd ball guy during the primaries curious to see just how far he could go...it wasn't until the whole "deplorables" incident that I was convinced Trump was truly "for real"), he's a clue:

Think of Rocky (not overall, just at this point) as like Hillary, complaicent and having this attitude like she "expected" to win (and the already liberal biased MSM was really going all-in for her).  Meanwhile, Trump was like Mr. T and his supporters; Trump did all those rallies (especially in the final month or so) and drew all those people because he and they were hungry!!  Hell, the people who you'd think would've likely back Hillary, they hadn't been hungry since they put Obama in the White House.

And the last couple of times the R's tried to have a nice reasonable mainstream guy running for President, well, they came off like whipped muzzled dogs.

But above all else, it simply came down to this (change four to eight years in this case):

So if the liberal D leaders/activists and even the "never Trump" R's don't like it, they have only themselves to blame.

  • Oh, make no mistake, the Dems did this to themselves.  They have done everything in their power to disconnect themselves from middle America, and botch that election.  To paraphrase some celebrity back in November, perhaps actively conspiring to nominate the least liked politician in decades was not ideal

None of that matters now though.  This shouldn't be about right vs left (though it will be, that's all it will ever be about anymore for most Americans, and will only get worse), but the direction we're going.  Everyone should be alarmed by the presidential overreach at this point and what it foretells for the next four years.

  • EO apparently coming out this week regarding LGBT that is going to:

    * Allow federal employees to refuse to serve LGBT people based on the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman or that gender is an immutable characteristic from birth, impacting a broad range of federal benefits.

    * Allow taxpayer funds to be used to discriminate against LGBT people in social services.

    * Allow adoption agencies that receive federal funding to discriminate against LGBT parents.

    * Make sexual orientation and gender identity fireable offenses for federal employees and federal contractors by eliminating non-discrimination protections.
  • LGBT are going to have to get used to the fact that the next 4-8 years are going to be rough ones for them. Just wait it out until the next Donk president gets in and then EOs all the reversals. Good times.

Next four years is generous, because this doesn't strike me as a guy who will be willing to cede power, should it come to that. I fully expect we'll have military members "watching over" inner city voting by 2020, too.

We are 8 days in and the Executive Branch is already ignoring the Judicial, after all.

Haha, what are you making us out to be?  Russia?

    ...er, wait

  • I am legitimately concerned we are heading towards that. Early signs are there, and as long as Trump is eating out of the palm of Bannon's hand, I'm not optimistic about our outlook.

Oh boy, this will be "fun".

I guess I am not setting foot in the US for vacations for the next 4 years at the very least. Sounds unsafe.

Depends on if the agent checking your passport decides it violates his religious beliefs.  I'm sure the EO is very well though-out and detailed when it comes to such scenarios.

  • presidential overreach at this point....

    LOL

Yeah, thats only been happening for about 200 years. Anything the fed does besides what is in the enumerated powers in Article I, Section 8 is void legally. well, its supposed to be anyways. This is what I'm talking about.  But the Liberals did it first!

Do you see me defending the Dems or Obama?  Try not to see this through the eyes right vs left tribalism, hard as that may...

Not only that. I could be denied service by hotels, restaurants and other places.

Also, with regulations like this in place, violence towards us tend to become higher. I got stab scar to prove it.

I'd love to visit US again and dump 1K USD a day at the local economy like I did during GenCon in 2008, but looks like Canada or some European country will be getting my money instead.

I am not very keen on collecting more scars.

I think he is talking about a rumor of a turnover of an existing EO by obama. Thats all I'm seeing after a search

First off, this is rumor speculation. Secondly its an overturn of an existing EO. Were people collecting scars before obama? Doubt it.

This existing EO wasnt in place when you came to the US in 2008. Looks like you made it ok.

    Dramatic much?

Did you get that scar on a trip to the USA?

(not being a smart-ass, just trying to establish the logic of why the EO, that reverts the current norm to what was present the last time you were here in 2008 makes you feel unsafe)

  • Ditto archs question

If you got that scar somewhere else in 2004, what does that have to do with your 2008 US visit?
  • Because I got that scar due to violence that breeds when regulations and the big people in power are very open with their discrimination against us. It makes the small people feel justified.

I do know that violence closely and personal. Things are better here now, but with what is happening up there, they will get ugly there.
  • Im really sorry that happened to you in your country, but what your hearing and being fed right now is just fear driven hysteria

Nobody cared in 2008 that you were a lesbian  when you were here. No one would care now. This country overall is pretty freaking tolerant. We dont care. Sure one bakery in colorado denied service once. Sure a lady in kentucky refused to issue a marraige certificate. There is anecdotal lottle instances every once in awhile, but right now this fear driven media coverage is absurd. This country isnt like that at all.

sounds like brazil might be less tolerant seeing that you got freaking stabbed.

Nothing is getting ugly here. Media blowing everything out of proportion and misinformation and speculation everywhere.  You are being lied to by the media and identity politics. Its a poltical game. Create this Divide and conquer. Wish everyone would just calm down.

Trump was actually the first president ever to take office who supported gay marraige. I dont see why hed give the left any ammunition in that regard.

  • What exactly do you think the "religious freedom" movement is attempting to accomplish? I feel quite confident that many businesses would not serve LGBT citizens if the laws/Constitution did not force them.

As for the rumored EO, Deputy WH spokesman says such an order is "not in the plans at this time." Glad to hear that, even if the wording is a but ominous.
  • Also, while it's nice to be able and sit back and say "it's all media hysteria," I can sit here and say for a fact that at least 3 families in my neighborhood can neither have family come visit nor leave the country, since they risk not being allowed back in. These are not illegal immigrants, but green card holders. So, yeah, real people are being affected, even if some people don't see it up close.
  • You know who we need?

    Wayne.

Ah jeez. I follow the Trump administration very closely, and haven't heard a whisper of any of this. There's no way in Hell any of this is on the table. Trump supports the LGBT community and never said word one about any of these things you're talking about. I can't wait 'til NONE of this happens next week, but I'm sure by then some other hysterics and fearmongering will be being spread.

The only thing that could even be remotely feasible is #1, in that a worker perhaps should not be forced to perform a service that goes against their religious beliefs (just to avoid another one of those wedding certificate issues - just let someone else do it within the same facility, nbd). And if any of this gets passed or even so much as suggested next week, I'll eat crow. But this is not the platform he represents. Especially not 2, 3, and 4, which 100% sound like they were cooked up by a sensational source. Wouldn't be surprised if it came from Correct the Record or Hillary Clinton herself. Doesn't sound like Trump at all to me.

Trump was the owner of the first private dance club in Palm Beach to admit openly gay couples. He donates to various AIDS research and service charities, including Elton John's. He held an AIDS fundraiser at the Taj Mahal. He made a $25,000 donation to the Gay Men's Health Crisis, and he allows same sex weddings and celebrations within his hotels. There's also countless stories from people he's helped out and gay friends of his who can vouch for him.

Does this really sound like a guy that wants to create EOs to randomly discriminate against the LGBTQ community to you?

And if they did they get persecuted for it. I just dont agree with that assessment at all. American business owners arent going to turn down money. There will always be an anecdotal instance. Its not how things are. I live in one of the most stereotypical areas of the US(east texas). I dont know any business that would do that.
