Hello!
Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum (obvs), but like I assume many new people who show up, I'm not so new to the game collecting. I'm 29 this year, and have played since I can remember, starting with the NES.
The recent release of the AVS as well as my own decline in interest in the latest generation of games culminated in my decision to get back into collecting the games I grew up with. I am an active member on another Playstation forum (playstationtrophies.org) under the username Noid, but seeing as the community is very trophy focussed, and nobody really cares about Nintendo, much less the NES, I figured I'd give this place a go.
As far as collecting goes, as I say I grew up on the NES, but of course being a kid I wasn't rolling in cash, so I didn't really amass a huge collection of those (sadly). Right now I have around 70 NES games, some of which are my own from when I was little, and some from when I grew up and got a job. The majority of my collection actually sits in Playstation land, where I have around 1500 total games (many digital). I went mostly digital with the PS3, and then ALL digital on the PS4 (400+ PS4 games already).
Unfortunately I never really got the same amount of pleasure from collecting and playing PS games or earning trophies (16,000+ trophies total), so I've decided to go back to simply playing the new games that really catch my eye when they come out, but focussing more on high scores and speedruns of the games I loved growing up. I'd much rather quality over quantity, and there's nothing more satisfying than having a top score or time. Trophies are simply too easy overall, barring a few exceptions.
Also, bit about me personally: I have a small YouTube channel which I will definitely not be spamming you all with, I mostly play PC games on there. That said, with the AVS coming in the spring/summer, I'm hoping to get into speedrunning again and posting some NES videos, but we'll see what the community thinks before I go annoying you with all that. As for work, I am a front end web developer and I love my work. Building websites started as a hobby in elementary school and grew from there!
Anywho, that's me in a nutshell! Nice to meet you all, and I hope we can get together well! Thanks for taking the time to read!

Sup, newb?
Really enjoying getting back into my NES lately, and you all are certainly helping! I've done a couple games for the "Can NA beat all the NES games" thread, which was super fun, and it feels good to contribute to such a fun goal!
I look forward to Joel and hot dogs lol. xD
