Ok now this upsets me. I would love to have a sign like that

This is the white Wii U logo one

I wish i had more room to leave that logo exposed. Wonder why it was printed on some and not others?

After shifting mine last night, I was also thinking that this thing should come with a He-Man award. Somehow this weighs more than my other kiosks, and rivals a dynamo cab, with a smaller footprint!

Just in case there is confusion, this is a hard plastic, pretty thick, sign that slides into the tracks on the back. It is not silkscreened/printed on the back panel of the kiosk. This was a sh!tty picture I found when quickly trying to find an example on Google Images and it is very difficult to see it's not actually the back panel.

And I personally think my N64 kiosk weighs way more. I was able to lift the Wii U kiosk out of the high-walled dumpster myself and know I would never be able to do that with the N64 one.

Gonna be fair, I'm goint to frame the mario maker/pokken/splatoon sign that came with mine and hang it up on the wall. It's suprisingly high quality for a poster-esque thing.

I really want to track one down without paying the stupid prices they are fetching.

Yeah, these prices are really getting kind of out of hand. I mean, these people are getting stuff out of the dumpster and saying "This poster is worth $150" and I'm gonna charge out the ass for shipping. Or keep the price low, but charge insane shipping costs. Or even this mornings new listing, the touchpen for $95. just clamp some wire together and drill a small holl into the stylis! You will get the same result.

Heres a listing for a poster and bezel combo, not sure if you were still looking for a bezel for the tv because I remember you mentioning it a while back. Not a listing of mine, but still.

Looks pretty much all of it was manufactured for NOA. Folks have tried reaching out to the kiosk manufacturer (Frank Mayer) and the LCD display and led power distribution box manufacturer (Lynx in NZ) and they have rejected requests for information or parts. More than one person stated in another thread that NOA would have to authorize release of information or parts due to contractual obligations with Nintendo. That doesnt mean these LEDs dont exist as a non-NOA model. They seem too modular to be fully custom.

I agree, I found a set on Amazon yesterday that looked really close, but the picture on the listing was too small to really tell.  It was overpriced anyway, but if I can find it again I'll post it here.  However, I'm thinking of trying these for connector replacements: https://www.amazon.com/LightingWill-Solderless-Conductor-Con...  Do you guys think these might work?

I am fairly certain that the correct connector for the lynx led box is this one:

    https://www.digikey.com/products/...

I ordered a bunch and will report back here once they arrive if they are the right ones or not.

Awesome, looking forward to what you find out.  I spent sometime splicing together the wires I had that were cut in to pieces and got the two interior/console light bars going.  Now I just need some wire and three more connectors and I should have most of the lights going on mine.

These people are no better than ticket scalpers. They are taking advantage of people that are trying to collect and preserve some nintendo history. I am looking for the clear plexi cover that goes over the wii. Its the last piece I need to complete my kiosk. There is one listed on ebay and even though the guy has a "make offer" button he refuses to bargain. After trying to get a more reasonable price (one sold on ebay for $20 less than he is asking) he wont even talk to me anymore, just refuses to reply to messages. This is a poor excuse for an ebay seller and just trying to take advantage of us.

That being said. If anyone has any leads on the clear plexiglass cube please hook me up. =>

I think that extra 25 to 30 lbs of early 2013 generic lcd makes a little difference, especially down a flight of stairs. I swear that compact little bastard is made of lead.

I have no room for the poster, and don't really care. Not worth what people are asking. Pm me your address Jason, and I'll send you mine.

I will keep an eye out for you, as well. Hate to admit this, but while I did buy a 2nd kiosk, from which I built one kiosk (using the best parts from the 2), the second kiosk is only really missing the TV bezel to be complete (enough), so I dont really want to part it out (yet). Was hoping to help someone get one that missed out, but if there are enough people interested in a majority of the parts (where I would not be left with just the empty base), I might consider parting it out as an option.

Yeah. I talked to him when he initially posted it at $10 (shipping was $110). I told the seller what a realistic price for shipping to my zip code would be and no response. Oh well.. Push comes to shove, I will just paint match (and paint) the replacement TV's bezel I am going to mount.

If you are serious, I will take you up on that offer.

He reminds me of some of the more charming flea market vendors ive run into. You know the kind. The ones that buy from the other vendors *before the market opens* and tries to resell to you at a high markup.

Oh yes... too well. There is a group on facebook that is a swarm of activity with selling and trading parts (at those ebay prices). Very cool group to see all the various cool kiosks people own, but 95% of the posts are Wii U kiosk parts sales/trades posts now. I've been wanting to go through all the posts and pull all the info I can to update this table, but am honestly dreading it.

Congrats everyone that received icon awards!! If you did not receive one and own a kiosk, make sure you post pictures of your kiosk. Its best to include your NA name in the picture somehow to prove you own it.  And thank you Jone!!

I know the domes go pretty quickly, but I will keep an eye out. pm me what you are wanting/willing to pay. If I see one for that price, I will just buy it. And I used to avoid facebook at all costs, too. Hell, only reason I have a facebook account is because of a (ex-)girlfriend from college created one for me... she said I HAD to have one since it was the future. haha  And started using it again after many years of not using because I joined a local video game collecting club and facebook was used to make plans, communicate, post awesome scores, etc.

If Facebook is the future we are doomed as a species.

  • I found something out in regards to that lynx LED box. With just the LEDs, it is pulling only about ~1.5 Amps from the power supply. This includes the LED sign and all the wire strips. So if you want, it appears that a 12V supply with 1.5+ Amps (center positive), then it should work just fine.

Matches what I measured, too. Great job snesnescube!

Good advice. I am measuring 1.11 amps at 12v and .32 amps at 9v.

You can use a 1.5v power supply at 12v (do they even make those?) but I would recommend a 2a supply just in case.

Note that the demo units wont run commercial games. They are loaded with demo discs which are also expensive.

  • Out of curiosity, can someone take a picture of the key looking straight down so that I can just trace over it in cad so I can make my own key. I'm no locksmith but I'm sure I can make my own key, and of course I will release the file so other people can print these. This is what I got so far.

That's what the plan is. Unfortunately, The only way I can really do it (since I don't have a key) is to trace over a picture. $3 + shipping will probably be the price I choose because $70/$80 is a dumbass price for a friggin key. You can go get a key for a car made at ACE for $80...
