D-Funk's New Game Room!!

Moved into a new place at the start of the month and been working slowly at setting up the new game room! Is a dedicated game room unlike before i had my collection in my bedroom and main setup for playing in the living room so its nice to have everything all in one place!

Still a semi work in progress but figured i'd share because i dont see it changing all that much until i get a few new shelves. Just sorta working with what i have for now but i'm liking how its turned out. Looks a little cleaner than my old set up because most of my larger system boxes and collectors editions are stashed in the closet for now. Only thing thats really missing is posters. Having the new ones i picked up framed so that will be a later addition! Also picking up 2 new recliners for the room and just using computer chairs till then. Anyway, heres the pics:

Shelf at the far end is a work in progress but sorta filling it with statues for now:

And game room closet packed with goodies!

Set up my girlfriends collection on her own shelf!

And added metal gear lamp which never got any use!

Finally have most everything hooked up! At least everything here. Want to add GameCube & N64 but no more room here. Going to set up 2 crts eventually. Have the one shown and 2 more in the closet just dont have the stand for it yet.

Looks pretty sweet all lit up!

Thanks buddy!   I have a wide variety of game interests!
  • Looks great. Judging by the pictures it looks like you went for quality over quantity across most platforms. Do you have a main focus for collecting?

I love how your Wii is all nice and cozy in that cd rack. On a side note you may want to invest in a really good firearm, I think your Virtual Boy is a Transformer planning on killing you.

no way, he's just guarding the kiosk! Also got a kick out of the spot the Wii is in  though I do wonder if the SNES and N64 have enough head room to get a cart in there
  • Dope collection, DQ. It'll be interesting to see what you do with all your special editions and whatnot. Have you thought about running some shelving above the TVs?

Very good display of games but it kills me that there is no poster of your avatar hanging on one of your walls.

Yeah, thats usually how i roll. If i pick up a new system i try and get the games i'm after most which is usually Shoot Em Ups, Platformers & RPGs!

Yeah! My girlfriend was recommending some floating shelves for above there but its a prime spot i want to put a few of my posters im framing so im sorta torn.
  • Looks slightly better than your old room, where you had stacks and stacks of special editions all piled on each other.

Thanks!   They are sorta starting to become a problem. May need to start parting with some in the future.
  • Your quoting skills are a lot better than mine. Good call on platformers, RPGs, and shoot em ups. I am looking to collect the same way. With limited space I can only chase the stuff I really want no complete sets. Plus I think it makes for some good pictures.
  • Damn man your collection looks outstanding. Love the layout and that snes sign

Thank you very much. I assume you know the names of the characters on screen.

  • Very cool! That Virtual Boy reminds me of the movie Batteries Not Included

Haha, thanks!    Yeah, no complete sets or me either besides Virtual Boy which i picked up all at once since i had the opportuniy. I do still plan to expand some of my little collections slowly but I'm relatively content at the moment. Really just looking forward to the Switch launch and still going after some DS titles.

  • Nice set up, must feel great to have a dedicated room. What sort of brew you have by the TV, btw?
  • Beautiful. I have a temporary game room but it's not very decorated. I'm not so great at decorating with figures and posters, and once we have a kid all my stuff will probably get moved to the garage... so it's not even worth getting stuff to decorate with.

Yeah   Feels pretty good. Its a C-Note IPA from local Lompoc Brewing! Had that and a Krux Half Hitch Imperial IPA last night while i was finishing up the game room. The C-Note is one of my go tos. The Krux i had only had once down at the their brewery but damn, that is one fantastic beer!

I am looking forward to seeing shelves full of switch games. Should be a great system once it is out.
  • Nice looking game room you got going on there!

I love drinking a few high-quality craft beers while working on the game room or sorting through things, it makes everything go so much smoother.  Congrats again with your set up
