Update 2: got myself a wired wiimote now. Thats working correctly right now. It takes power right from the controller box and wired it up based on a pinout that I found online. Hopefully the data lines that hooked up is correct. I'll post updates as I get down to doing it.
Hello there! Ive been out of commission due to an injury and just starting to catch up again. Im curious how your kiosk is coming along? What have you managed to learn?

That there are diodes in the controllers cables crossing signals in a weird way. This kind of makes it impossible to make the cables in the way I want to.
As a result, my thought process was to just use the wires as a means of suspension to a little box that jumps the wiimote and nunchuck together. I also ditched the hardwired power for convenience and time's sake. However, looking at it, can you power the wiimote with the 3.3v pin on the plug inside the controller.
I also learned that the nunchuck has the exact same hardware. My friend has the wires controllers and I ws able to take apart the nunchuck. So nothing is different there.
I'll post pictures later today or tomorrow when I have a bit more time. Personally, the tiny box is good enough for me personally as I am only trying to replicate the look, maybe not necessarily functionality. I also have to fix one of the boards, my method of jumping the signals was through using two headers, and just my luck I accidentally ripped one of the headers right out. My kiosk is almost complete to where I would like it. I will show it off within the next few weeks. My only regret is that I wish I had more time to work on it.
have details on this numbchuck wireing SNESNESCUBE64?
Nothing other than the fact that the wires have diodes in them and are jumping signals together. Basically, you would have to make your own cables, then do some jumping in the box so that way, you can just make it act like its a regular wiimote/nunchuck combo, then hardwire the wiimote and nunchuck accordingly. Its just a pain in the ass because they did it in a backwards way.
Worst part, is that I cannot take apart the kiosk wiimote. Its friggin glued shut! The nunchuck came apart no problem, but thats half of the puzzle, meaning that it would be useless. Anyway, check out what I did for my wired wiimotes, I basically used the original cords as anchors and used a ribbon cable to jump the wires together. Kind of ratty in my book but it worked for what I wanted it to do. Anyway, sorry, but this is the end of my knowledge and I wish I could do more. The thread in which I talked about the wiring in my kiosk can be found here: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=175176
Here is an image that I took a while back of the insides of the nunchuck, is this what you were talking about in terms of wiring for the nunchuck? Anyway, it appears to be a normal nunchuck, just with now weird socket soldered in for the wires. Hope this helps your situation.
i made these from a set of wii u kiosk controlers. i will be pining out teh ps/2 conector shortly. this is the internal wiring
Your gonna have a hard time pinning out the cables. I already tried but I BELIEVE there are diodes in the cables jumping signals together for some reason. However, if you find out how to make it work please do share. I didn't have any luck in my quest to make a set.
yes there seems to be diodes in the ps/2 end of the cable. im going to order some conectors and see if i can map this out. ive never seen anything like this before
Perhaps an old ps2 keyboard has all the pins one to one. I would try that next personally. If I have one I will give it a try, a custom plug in order to screw it into the console can always be fabricated if need-be
I finally tracked down a demo console to go with my Wii U kiosk. There's a ring terminal on the back (see photo). Does anyone know its purpose?
thanks!
It is for an external ground. It would be used to connect the sheild on the console to a ground, helps with interference and with static electricity. I'm not sure where it would be connected on the kiosk itself however.

I was wondering if that was the case. I'll attach a fresh ring terminal and wire and look for a ground.

I do not believe that it is necessary for operation. Mine does not have it.
Hey all. I got a Wii U kiosk console. It looks like mine is loaded with a demo video. It immediately goes through a very short demo reel. Only thing is there is no sound. Even in the kiosk menu there is no sound. Could this just be related to whatever version is loaded on this system? It seems to be early because of the system and accessory introduction and games shown. It shows NSMBU, lego city undercover, nintendoland, wonderful 101, and Nintendo TVii. Has anyone heard of this version of the demo?

Do you got a gamepad hooked up? I don't think it plays audio in just the trailer mode. You can pair by accessing the settings menu by putting a blank FAT32 SD card in before you turn on console. Just as a note, I also believe that you can use a standard keyboard in the settings menu. It also might be a setting.

Sweet thanks a lot. I paired the gamepad and got to the demo menu. Do you know how to access the export option? It is just greyed out on mine. I'm using a 16gb sd card

Anyone know how to add/remove demos for the HDD version console that doesn't have an optical media drive? My console doesn't take discs, and several of the demos are borked.
