Hello there, I am new to NintendoAge. Heard a lot of mixed things about this place but I figure I would see it for myself. I like video games, heavy metal, doing video content, and all that fun stuff. Hope all is well. \,,/

    Mostly the only bad things I hear about this place are from the people who were banned from doing something agaisnt the rules, and/or where scamming people. For the most part, in the half a decade I've been here, people here have been pretty informative and friendly, and I only have a few run-ins with people who mistake facts from opinions. lol



    Just be cool and show respect, and you'll be fine.   Lots of cool peeps here, even those who share your love for metal.

    I like Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Traditional Metal, New Wave of British Heavy Metal the most, but there are bands I like in most genres. I am not too fond of the core genres other then grindcore, and nu-metal is 98% trash. lol

    The argument can be made that most nu-metal isn't metal. Off the top of my head, I can't really think of any that are more metal than not. I'm big on black and doom. I figured you had to say at least one of those genres... I mean... we live in Washington. This area (WA, OR, CA) is the home of doom and black metal in the US.

    Yeah, I have been in many debates on nu-metal not being metal. As for Black Metal, I like the first wave, Venom, Bathory, Mercyful Fate. Some will argue that those are not black metal, but they definitely have that early black metal vibe. Then there are bands like Immortal, Mayhem, Marduk, Darkthrone, 1349, etc that I really enjoy.



    I also like Blackened Thrash, like Destroyer 666. By far my favorite from that genre mixture.

    I haven't heard a lot of Blackened Thrash. Some stuff like Blood Tsunami but not a lot. For me it's mainly the atmospheric stuff so bands like Wolves in the Throne Room or Weakling. I like Mayhem, Marduk, Darkthrone, and Burzum but a lot of the second wave stuff I never really got into. Was never particularly fond of that aggressive sound some of them went for (like Marduk is admittedly very aggressive but I still like them).

    I have heard a lot of Wolves In The Throne Room, obviously since they are from the Pacific Northwest, but never heard of Weakling. There is a band called Power From Hell, that is pretty damn good. Also Baphomet's Blood that are the black/thrash mixture. Although Baphomet's Blood has turned to almost speed metal. The vocalist sounds a bit like Lemmy.
