  • Its on Amazon so I seriously doubt it. People were worried about Payday 2 and it's already a $30 game

Curious what the conditions are for getting the good ending i've heard about. I figured it was just finishing everyone's side quests and giving each person their special items.

So, how long of a game is it? I just found the Nun and stoped at the camp at the "Nameless Coast."

Well i'm 52 hours into the game now. Have 93% of them map complete, Found all the location points and sorta just tying up some loose ends around the island. Think i have all the people now as i was able to remove the last baricaded spot that took 24 people. The boss was pretty tough in that location! I don't think i was really ready to take him on at my current level but finally beat him after blowing through most of my potions and food!   Figured since im this close i may as well shoot for 100%. I think i'm on the last story mission now.

Just outta curiosity, how do you know it's 52 hours and not just the "Over 50 hours" that your Switch profile stats would state? Is there an in-game ticker?

  • Yes, it shows you when you pause.
  • Not sure if this had been mentioned yet but it appears to be missing from the front page :

Of course, after I already started the standard version last weekend.   I wonder if the progress transfers over or not? I know for some PS games the "ultimate" edition doesn't allow you to use save data from the standard one.

EDIT : I can only find the physical release in PAL and it appears that the DLC is just a download code and isn't actually on the cart itself.

Yeah, Ys VIII has the time displayed in the bottom of the menu.

Sweet, why the FRIG don't all games have that? By the way I still lose it damn near every time I see your avi, don't ever change it.

  • Haha! I couldnt wait for Halloween so i slapped in up early! I dunno, I especially hate when RPGs don't have a clock! Drives me bananas!
  • Bunch of NIS stuff announced, including the already leaked RPG Maker

That was announced a while ago and like ZBomber said I am pretty sure it was not a NA release.

  • I'm kind of interested in RPG Maker because I remember playing it on PC in the early 2000s, but it also seems like something that would be better suited to play on a computer.

Am I the only one who is getting tired of NIS special editions?  Not every game needs a special edition.  Plus, it just seems like NIS is phoning it in with the special editions lately.  You seem to always get some variation of the game, an art book, and soundtrack CD.  Do we really need a CD soundtrack to RPGMaker?  Do we really even need CDs anymore?  Just seems like a cash-grab.  I used to hate on LRG for doing this, but at least their special editions seem to have some thought put into them lately (Night Trap SE having a Sega CD case and VHS movie for example).

  • I do like that they are showing the Switch a lot of love but would be nice to have more quality titles and collectors editions. LRG has been puttin together some good collectors editions for Switch! Love them little Steelbooks! Wish NISA would start doin those!

Edit* about to receive the first CE from LRG games today for Thimbleweed Park. My only hope is that its not too large. I've got a few other LRG CE's in the past that seemed massive for no reason. At least NISA has down the compact collectors edition formula for the most part. They usually make a tight little package.
  • I am on the fence about all the NIS special editions. On one side I think it's a bit ridiculous, but on the other side they are there for people that want them.

I personally won't buy any of them, I'd rather spend the extra money on more games.

Pretty much this. The only one I got was Disgaea 5 and that's only because it was announced before the Switch even launched and I was really hyped for the system. I never opened it and will probably sell it at some point because I'm not even interested in the game.

In general though, I agree that there are WAY too many special editions for games these days. Most games aren't that notable that they really need one. But they sell, and collectors keep buying them, so I don't think that trend will die down anytime soon.

I'm also interested to see how the LRG Collector editions are. I ordered the first couple, but the more I though about it I'm gonna run out of room really fast if they're doing one for EVERY switch game they release so I decided to stop buying all of them. The steelbooks are honestly the only thing I'm interested in for most of them (except Night Trap, which looks like a really cool set). I wish they sold those individually.

The front page list includes NA, Japanese, EU and Aus. Of course you add it to where it belongs

Looks good, when did you get your shipping notification?  I could have sworn I preordered one but nothing yet.

  • Got a shipping notification June 28th, then got an email yesterday saying all the Thimbleweed Parks had shipped:

"We just wanted to inform everyone that Thimbleweed Park for the Nintendo Switch has completely shipped out. All standard and Big Box Editions have left the building. You should have a tracking number for your order in your email somewhere, if not, you can log in to our site and check the status of your order on your Limited Run Games account!"

Lol, there ya go! Pretty sweet collectors edition. Size isnt too big tho I'm pretty sure some of the LRG CE's are.gonna be bigger like the Saturday Morning RPG and Night Trap ones. Hopefully they don't go too much bigger than this though. Would have been sweet if they made them all uniform in size but it doesn't look like that'll be the case.
  • I only got the regular edition. Can't afford all the CEs lol.
  • Apparently de Blob is out after back and forth date changes. Amazon in Canada still says 12/31. Weird. Added to the list as well as that Mario Rabbids Gold PAL game.

I got it last week but it was incredibly difficult to find. Very small shipments. Only a handful of Best Buy in my state even got it.
  • Steamworld Dig 2 came with a little double sided poster. Case says Bonus on the front with a little picture.
