  • Anyone see the new chrome wired pro controllers? Was at Wal-Mart just now and got a Metroid one. I'm assuming they are of the same quality as the others but just look super cheap.

Can't pass on the Metroid name being slapped on something, though.
  • Mmm... feels even cheaper than it looks.

Interesting. Hadn't seen those. Did they make a Zelda one? That would be my kryptonite.
  • There was a light blue Zelda one. The four I saw were Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and I think the fourth was Peach? They didn't actually have that just a spot for them.

Edit: Yep, it was Peach. Here is a link.

  • Flip Grip finished tonight just shy of $141k, but for anyone who missed out, they also have a pre-order up on fangamer.

I also picked up Letter Quest on the eShop for $2.99. I'm enjoying it so far, as is my five year old son. There's an easy level where 3-4 letter words get the job done, or expert where you need 6+ letter words to survive.
  • Wouldn't those chrome controllers get all smudgy with finger prints? They kind of look cool but cheap at the same time
  • They come with a small cloth to rub them down.
  • My Switch area is filling out nicely.

    Very Nice!
  • Been playin Shining Resonance today and its alright so far. Sorta starts slow and the action feels pretty slow paced after playing through Ys VIII but it seems like it will be enjoyable. Reminds me most of like Tales of Xillia or Star Ocean V which isn't a bad thing in my eyes. Anybody planning on playing this game or is everyone just waiting for Octopath?

You guys are too fast. I'm still playing Battle Chasers! Lol. My copy of Shining came yesterday from Amazon packed in a bubble mailer and the steelbox was smashed and bent so I am sending it back for a new one.
  • I like RPGs but they're not games I can really give a fair chance due to their length. I feel like I've already got too much on my plate with Xenoblade, Disgaea, and Ys. But I'll be picking up Monster Hunter in August, probably Octopath, and Fire Emblem next year. Oh yeah... and I'll more than likely get Let's Go Pikachu. I'm never going to finish these as it is.
  • I guess Shining Resonance only got delayed at Best Buy

Oh well, I guess I'm picking up Captain Toad, Shining Resonance, and Octopath Wayfarer's Edition on Friday. Oof.

Just beat Battle Chasers. Game was VERY well done but omce you get the ultimate weapons and max level enchants the game loses any meaning lol. You mow through everything..Final boss dead in 4 attacks (I've even read of one shots). Ending sets it up for a sequel so hopefully that comes to fruition
  • Really enjoyed Battle Chasers. I must not of got the ultimate weapons though.

You find all 6 crafting recipes in the Pale Cathedral book cases. The ingredients are varied and most are not just randomly found
  • Im definitely passing on Shining. When I still havent played JRPGs like Xenogears and SMT III, I cant justify dropping 40+ hours on also-rans. An epiphany I had after wasting too much time on some other crap

edit: Not to imply you're all wasting your time. But with my time budgets I have to be very efficient with what I choose to play
  • Aren't we all just wasting time!
  • It's all relative.
  • Tempted to pick up Captain Toad for Switch. Picked it up for Wii U and liked what I played (a dozen levels or so) but it got lost in the mix once breath in the wild came out. Not sure if I should double dip now or wait for the price to go down a bit (inevitable nintendo select down the road?) Close to finish Xenoblade 2 but planning on diving into octopath next.
  • I love JRPGs but I tend not to finish them since they're not typically 10 hour games. Not that I want a short JRPG. I like them 40+ hours. But I wish I had more time for them. I tend to stick to shorter games these days. I'm super pumped for Octopath on Friday. I will definitely be playing that one to completion. I have a file in the middle of Xenoblade 2, Ys VIII and Battle Chasers, all excellent games, I just wish I had more time for them.

I'm in the same boat.  I LOVE RPGs, but I hardly finish them anymore before I feel the tug to start another one.  I started palying Xenoblade 2 on release day and have since put 115 hours into it and still haven't finished it.  I REALLY need to get that one done.  My biggest problem is that I am a completionist and I can't stand not getting all of something important.  I have to have all the best equipment, best spells, whatever.  In this case, it is driving me bonkers that I don't have all the Blades and there is no way I'm going to sink the time into that game after all the time I have already given it to farm them.  So, that frustrates me, I walk away, and I tend to not finish.  My favorite SNES game is Lufia II and I still to this day have not beaten it because I went into the cave and got to level 90 something and died and I refuse to finish without getting to level 100.  That was 12 years ago.  LOL!  I'm so weird...

I wouldn't even say I'm a completionist. Maybe for platformers like Donkey Kong and Yoshi and stuff, but I just don't have the time or patience to 100% complete games anymore. I don't even finish the main quest. I think I put 10 hours into each Battle Chasers, Xenoblade and Ys VIII. I just struggle to complete them because I get distracted and move onto something else, or somehting else comes out and I want to play that instead. And then I just get bogged down with release after release and on top of that I'm playing some retro games as well. There is just never enough time for games.

If you don't finish Xenoblade 2 before starting Octopath i want a Divorce!!!  I still don't have all the blades and i'm 185 hours deep on my 2nd play through! They Keep Adding Them if you got the DLC! lol! I think my brother finally just got them all at like 330 hours deep!  Think its time to just buckle down and finish er yo!   Can always fire up a New Game+ and carry all your stuff over and try and get them later!

Octopath comes out in 2 days. No way in hell am I finishing Xenoblade in that time. I'm starting Octopath as soon as I get it. Hopefully that I will actually finish. I don't see the sense in buying the DLC for Xeno until I finish the game. Hopefully eventually I will get back around to the game.
  • lol, i was sorta directing that at Fleck but we're definitely getting a divorce too! I've Had IT!!!!
  • Re: RPGs, I don't play a ton of them but I will always finish any game I start (unless it is unbearably bad). The only game I can think of that I've abandoned in any genre in the past 4 years or so is Paper Mario Color Splash, partially because I started it a week before BOTW and really couldn't get into the game play, partially because my hard drive for my Wii U died and lost all my progress with it.   I'll also usually have another game going on while playing for when I need a change of pace from the grindy nature of RPGs.

I need some kind of buffer in between RPGs. I finished Xenoblade 2 earlier this year, started Ni No Kuni II two weeks after which I finished in May, and now will be starting up Octopath on Friday. After that I probably won't be touching another RPG until I get my Super NT and play Chrono Trigger for the first time this fall. I guess the way I look at it is... for the amount of time most RPGs take up, I only want to play the very best ones (or at least ones that really interest me). A lot of them just seem very bland and generic to me.
