The only thing turning me off about Doom is it is supposedly 720p 30fps. 720p doesn't bother me at all, but I think 30fps for a faster first person shooter like Doom might be a bit too much of a downgrade.
Is anyone getting Pokken? I had it on Wii U and got like halfway through the single player before I stopped. It was ok, but not something I would buy again at full price.
Valid concern for sure on Doom, but early reports are looking good that it runs pretty smooth. It seems the demos currently being supported are not docked in 720p, and it seems they are still "optimizing" the game for the switch. Apparently one that almost requires the pro controller though, by nature.

Agree. I can do 30fps considering it's a handheld/hybrid, I do hope though that it's a solid 30 fps. Personally, 60fps with frequent drops is more jarring to me than a constant/solid 30fps. I know everyone is differnet but with the impressions being so overwhelming positive I think it will be fine.
I have a feeling it won't hit 720p either. I'm guessin it will be an adaptive resolution that drops depending on the situation, but again I think that's fine with everyhing considered.
Cartoony looking games seem to work better at 30fps (than realistic ones) and some of the colors are very vibrant in Doom with an almost cartoon-ish feel at times. It may not be that noticeable. I mean, if you've played the PS4 version it will be... but going in cold? Might be just fine. If it's a stuttering 30 like Dark Souls on PC... oh man. But with people playing demos of it already and saying it's okay? There probably isn't much to worry about.
Yeah the DOOM concerns are valid ones, and definitely will become even greater concerns as time goes on. I have every faith in the world that the Switch will blossom into an amazing system (in may respects it already has), but man oh man, it does have some extreme hardware limitations for a system trying to carve a niche for itself in 2017, especially since it packs all the tech under the hood of an Android tablet from 2014.
I really think Nintendo should have had a bit more foresight here, and if it cost the consumer an extra $50 for upgraded chips, I bet that $50 wouldn't deter anyone from buying the system. If the PS4 and Xbox One already saw the need for a technical upgrade only a few years into their lifespan (and whose tech had previously already jogged circles around the Switch), that is alarming for Nintendo.
Some will say that Nintendo will simply develop great games within those limitations, but as time goes on, third-party games being released for other consoles will be increasingly difficult to bring to Switch. FIFA and 2K made it under the door this year, but if there are any graphical leaps made in next year's iteration to take advantage of Playstation and Xbox's new beefier systems, don't expect to see them on Switch.
Games for PS4 and XBO are supposed to have modes that allow them to play on the original launch consoles. So new games should still have 'inferior' versions that could pretty easily ported to Switch. I'm not really following releases, but I haven't heard of any games that can only be played on the console upgrades.
Best Buy and Amazon were delayed... but someone on eBay has sold 9 of them and has 2 left. It's a picture of the actual case and not stock. Physical got released somewhere.
heard the physical release of Axiom verge was delayed a month till November also though the digital release got moved forward to 10/5 because of the delay on physical copy
I just got back from a random visit to EB Games, they had Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase behind the counter, so I guess that is out now? I thought it was supposed to be October 10th. Anyways, OP updated with that now.
Retro City Rampage Physical release announced. Looks to be an exclusive to VBLANK.com Go there to check it out. I will add it to the OP. That website says on sales Oct 9th.

It's out now. Just ordered mine. I'm stoked to actually finally be able to play this game. I don't do downloaded games, so I've been waiting for a physical release on a system that I own.
Tiny Barbarian DX came in mail today. Had a sticker on the cellophane advertising freebies inside, it had a manual and a little pouch with a barbarian riding a bee key chain. Also my limited edition Touhou burst battle from NIS. Regular edition has not arrived yet.
Anybody pick up 88 Heroes or Soldam? Was wondering if there are any manuals or anything limited in them like some of the other releases similar to these have had.

Amazon in the US says Sine Mora Ex is out on September 26th. I know the digital version is out, can anyone confirm the retail is as well?
Pretty sure retail dropped same day, ordered from Amazon just hasn't arrived yet.
Edit* Also Battle Chasers has been delayed on Switch: http://nintendoeverything.com/battle-chasers-nightwar-officially-delayed-on-switch/
