The only place I can find it locally is Best Buy and I want to do store pick up but when they do store pick ups they put a giant sticker on everything and I sure as hell don't want them ruining the box with their dumb sticker, but if it's wrapped in plastic I can just rip it off. Otherwise I'll have to wait to find it or wait for it to be shipped to my house which won't be til next week. I was hoping to get Axiom Verge tonight to play over my 4 day weekend from work.

I've played about 2 hrs last night. The atmosphere of the game is 10/10. Platforming with the joycons is a chore like most other platformers on the system so far. Game design is metroidvanian and flows really well. Deaths don't result in all loss of progress just loss in positon on the map (like you keep weapon upgrades just revert to last save point). Definitely worth the $24 I got w the 20% off new games from Amazon or Best Buy.
Another comparison... This is Cave Story in a more brooding and claustrophobic atmosphere. Cave Story builds you up and makes you feel good... Axiom Verge is just dark. And a bit creepy at times.

Axiom Verige is awesome especially if you are a fan of Metroid/Super Metroid. I haven't fired it up on Switch but. i have played it on Steam and I have it on PC physical steelbook and I'd have the indiebox CE had I paid attention of its release. Probably pick up a ps4 physical eventually.
Edit: Actually, why didn't I preorder this game? I really don't know. I do love it. That picture that was posted of the contents made me bargain with my wife why I need to spend another 40 dollars around all of our other pricey purchases recently.
I managed to find a copy of Azure Striker today, so it's out there. No cover art inside but it's still great to finally play these games past the demo. I even passed up on an SNES Classic for this, as I noticed they had some at the Gamestop I was at. Maybe I should've went for the Classic and gotten the game later, lol.
I got my copy of Axiom yesterday and LOVE it! I had never played it before, but had heard really good things about it. The gameplay is amazing, as is the music/atmosphere. If you liked Metroid/Super Metroid, you will almost be guaranteed to like this!

Nice! Where did you find it? I picked up 5 new games for myself today as well, but have still yet to see that one in the wild. I did get Poi today, though, so I am super stoked.
Amazon had it for that price earlier in the day, probably matching the BF Best Buy price, which is what I was hoping for since the prices first came out. I think it's actually back to the original $40 price now though, sadly.
Hopped in the line outside best buy 40mins before open, with about 40 or so in line. People got mad they ran out of the sharp tv and somehow misinformation spread they weren't letting people in till 6.. people foolishly left. Ended up getting everything I wanted though!! Disgaea 5, Dragon ball Xenoverse 2, Rayman legends, and Minecraft stories. Oh and wolfenstein 2 for xbone. Was gonna grab monopoly but after consideration ended up with a new phone as well and decided I would rather have a case. New lesson learned, get a new phone plan on black Friday and you get to skip the line, which was wrapping around the building. Best experience for the chaos I've ever had haha.

Basically, if you like Super Metroid (my favorite game ever) you'll love this game. This is what a Metroid game should be.
