The cover has a stupid banner that says it includes a download, to make things even worse.
I read that the 2nd Collection is about 6 GB so theyd only need an 8gb card. 1st Game is a few hundred MB. So now you get to use 6 gb of your SD card or system to store the one part of the collection you actually are buying it for and a whole 300mb of storage saved by the first collection being on a cart. Why release anything on a cart imo? We already have the first collection on physical carts for nintendo.
Any chance these 2nd game download only ever get released on a cart? If not I hope people start making copies of them. I'd buy a repro (or whatever the correct term is) mega man lagcy collection 2 cart any day.
Mega Man legacy collection 1 & 2 confirmed for retail May 22. Looks like game 1 is on cart and game 2 is download. May is shaping up to be an expensive month!
I do wish they'd cut it out with the downloads. It's making buying used kinda rough lol.
I wish they'd just stop altogether with it. I was going to buy another of their games but they split it 50/50 too and I still don't own it. I also don't see myself probably ever buying it unless the price is so cheap to justify it just for buying what is on the card. It sickens me at the cheapness of the situation that Nintendo allows developers to pull these stunts because they won't pay up for the next size of game memory card to use. Publish or not, there is no half publish.
If quest4nes is right about size I remember reading a few months ago that the price of a 8GB Switch card when bought in an average production size of games costs as much as a double density blu ray does in production too, or if not the same extremely close. That just says major cheap skate tactics on Capcom's part. I know when you jump from 8-16 it's notably more and the 32 is fairly expensive of a jump too, yet you see Square-Enix not have a problem using those and they're not even charging $60 max retail on their Switch games as of yet. Capcom is just being their usual bad selves backing up their multiple negative reputations they've grown around Nintendo owners over the years to no surprise.

Rockstar released LA Noire on a 16 GB car instead of a 32GB one necessitating buyers to download a 14GB “update” to play the complete game.

Uuuuuggghhhh. Like why even release on physical media at that point?
32g cards are very recently used by Switch so it's not surprising really for RE Revelations or LA Noire but they've been using 16g cards since launch so doing a split download for Megaman is frickin ridiculous. Just proves as others have said they are being cheap as hell and using the smallest size possible :-/
Requires huge download. The game is 27gbs i believe, but only like 7 is on the cart. You have to have a micro sd just to play it. It mandates 5gb storage on a actual system and the other 10-15 on the sd card. And when you buy it , you better not feel like playing it for a good 1/3 of the day to download and install before play.

Weird! Curious if they'll change it on future prints. Lost Sphear has Squeenix on the spine.
Less than 2 weeks and the Switch will a year old! Been a crazy fun year playin Switch! So many great games not only physically but digitally! Just hit 50 Switch games! Seems crazy for the first year of a system! I think i've downloaded some 70 other games off the Switch shop. Pretty much all i've been playing all year!
Standouts for me, Xeno 2 of coarse, such an amazing game! Was fun playing back through skyrim in handheld! love the Nicalis line up with all the great launch editions! Put a bunch of time into Binding of Isaac! Don't think i have to mention Mario and Zelda. Loved Mario + Rabbids. Mario Kart, of coarse put a ton more time into!
As far as eshop, been awesome to get so many shoot em ups! Psikyo has dropped a bunch of great updated shmup ports incuding: Gunbird, Samurai Aces, Zero Gunner 2and Stikers 1945 I & II. Snk has dropped a ton of great beat em ups, fighters and shmumps, stand out for me there Garou Mark of the Wolves, Aero Fighters 2, Blazing Star, Top Hunter and the 2 Shock Trooper games. Other great games to check out: Snipperclips, Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Blaster Master Zero, Rive, Enter the Gungeon, Celeste, Sky Force Reloaded & Gunbarich. I've downloaded but yet to play Golf Story and Stardew Valley but hear great things. Hope to get to them soon.
So, with the trend of some games being 50/50 cart and download (resident evil, bayonetta, megaman), is it possible to copy the downloaded game to a card and save it?
I do. I used to play Tony Meola on SNES all the time, I actually played soccer when I was younger, and on my copy of FIFA Street for Xbox I've never lost a game.
I played Football as well. I found soccer more interesting, though. I don't dislike either of them but sports games never really dominated my video games.
I'd also like to get into Hockey but I haven't had cable in like 10+ years. My wife recently subscribed to HULU live so I might actually start watching sports and getting active. My company actually has a soccer and basketball team. Who knows, maybe I'll get in shape and start playing again

Whoa! Nice breakdown of the games. The collection is looking good. I myself haven't been this excited for a system since my SNES. I just passed 30 games this week with a few new additions and I'll likely be adding 10 or so more between now and June (already paying for preorders to help spread out the wallet damage)
The only game I plan to get is Super Mario Odyssey but...what are MUST HAVES? I'm only looking for exclusives, unless there is a solid reason to get the Switch version (portability isn't attractive to me)

That game was more or less at launch in Japan and sits on a 32GB card. They didn't even up the price over the stock top MSRP for Switch games either to account for that. Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2 is 100% on the card and a 32GB one at that.
There's a reason I also did not buy LA Noire, that download mentioned yesterday in the thread. 55% of the game on a 16GB card, and another 14GB of a pointless download other than to save money. I wanted that game too.
NBA also brought up like 1/3 of the game physical and 2/3 of it not, and horribly broken and incomplete at that with all the hell they caught. I'm not into sports games but even that annoyed me reading about it.
Same reason why I didn't and won't buy any Capcom games that are split up like that. So far two games I would have bought I will not. They need to learn it isn't right cutting out stuff to save a buck. Just as EA had to learn their lesson over the FIFA bomb sales at full price with part of a game missing.
And about DQ Builders, didn't Nintendo publish that in the US? Lost Sphear Square-Enix published and sold directly only from their website so their name would be there. Nintendo has long had the publishing rights to DQ games on Nintendo formats going back to the DS era when that big coup happened and DQ9 occurred along with the 4-6 remasters. All of them published by Nintendo. During the 3DS same thing again.
So, with the trend of some games being 50/50 cart and download (resident evil, bayonetta, megaman), is it possible to copy the downloaded game to a card and save it?
There is a movement towards that making your own physical. There are 3D printed shells being made that snap into empty Switch cases. People are buying cheap microSD cards and just copying the one game onto it and then storing it in a case with their own color printed cover art. Since no one really makes manuals anymore they fit right in. Because Nintendo now finally late in the game locks games to accounts and not just the hardware you can copy the game to the card, play from the card, go to another person Switch and if you make your account on there too run the game as well. It's an added expense but you can make physical games of your own going that route.
