Super Mario Bros. 2 box contents

Hello everyone!

I am looking to acquire a cib copy of Smb2 on nes. I was wondering, what papers came with the game back then besides the manual? There was probably a Nintendo power ad in there, but which one?

Thanks for your time!

  • I recall it being the one with the tip about squatting on the white blocks for several seconds to pass behind them.

Edit: nm. I thought you said SMB3.

You're in luck! My copy is 100% complete, as I got it for Christmas `95 when it was still sold in stores.

The Nintendo Power ad is probably different from its first run in the `80s, but it'd otherwise be identical.

(Note that the Nintendo slip-cover has the "shiny" version of the logo)

Does your cart have the seal of quality? Most SMB2 carts I see do not. I can't tell since yours is in the dust sleeve.

I believe the carts with no seals came in the boxes with the black round seal.

Correct, the original print had the round seal on the box and the inserts were different. It should have the space NP insert and the 1988 Nintendo foldout. This had to have been the 3rd printing of this game which must be uncommon.

As promised, here's the full label for you! Yes, it has the seal.
