I can't believe none of the die hards have posted a pic of the legendary Funcoland neon! One of the most iconic video game signs of all... right up there with the KB/World of Nintendo!
Ask and ye shall recieve.
I KNEW someone would come through! I'll get one of these one day, it goes so well right beside the KB/WON!
The KB is clearly the greatest sign ever. Hands down. :-)

Definitely. I'm pretty into the gameboy fiber though...
Interesting, I didn't know the movie "10" with Bo Derek was that big of a deal at some point. It was already years old by then.
It makes sense if they are talking the original release in the oversized flip box, because that is one of the first commercial VHS releases ever, it's pretty rare like any other 1980 release since there weren't that many VCRs in peoples homes back then. $10 isn't that unreasonable these days either. But if they were giving $10 for the 90s reprints too...that's always bugged me about getting trade in for your movies at a business is that you never receive the value for which edition you have. Movies have original prints and reprints no different than books, there shouldn't just be some set value across the board like these type of sheets used to do.
Anyone interested in buying a huge lot of funcoland items? Hats, jacket, pins and old name tags. Pm willing to sell or trade. Not sure if this is allowed.

I came across a craiglist ad for Funcoland shirts recently. I met the man and it turns out he was really good friends with the owner and founder of Funcoland. He explained that he knew all the VPs and that both of his sons worked at a Funcoland for years. In 1999, he took 64 promotional pre-order shirts from one of the warehouses to give out as gifts for one of his sons' parties. He said he completely forgot about them and they sat in his attic until now. I got 37 Donkey Kong 64 Funcoland branded Banana Club shirts, 11 Twisted Metal 4 Funcoland branded shirts, and 3 WCW/NWO Revenge Funcoland branded shirts. The non Funcoland branded shirts were Fighting Force 64, Crash Bandicoot 2, Metal Gear Solid VR Missions, Twisted Metal III, and ECW Hardcore Revolution. These were all brand new never worn. I felt like I struck gold here. I've wanted something from Funcoland for such a long time and then I foudn 64 things!
I actually live like 15 minutes from this one. The magic ends when you walk thru the door as it is nothing but a gamestop. I'm not sure why they kept the sign on the building.
The last of the magic is finally gone :'(
EDIT: Kinda funny that the posters in the window in the 2015 Google pic are unchanged from the 2018 pic lol
Here's some pictures of my FuncoLand stuff. Some of you may enjoy seeing these as not too much of it exists anymore. Be sure to post anything you have as well!
NES and SNES cart sleeves and disc sleeves. I still need more disc sleeve variants and a Genesis cart sleeve. Various game tip sheets and receipts.
Disc wallets, box for used systems, price sheet, a universal game/VHS case, and Game Informer sign.
Employee Polo shirt and sweatshirt.
Manager's leather jacket.
Edit: My apologies, the pictures aren't showing up too well, but you get the idea.
This thread brought back such awesome memories for me. Funcoland was a monthly (weekly, in some cases) destination for me, my brother and my dad. They honored my game trades far better than 95% of shops do today (or at least the 7 yr old me thought they did lol). Thanks for this thread and sharing pics of all that great gear. Took me on a trip back down memory lane.
