There was a lot of buzz about this on Facebook. I'm glad I was lucky enough to get one at a GameStop a while back. I don't have the time or energy to take my chances beating the crowds at Best Buy.
Just got my ticket and was surprised to see that no one is talking about it here.
Probably keeping it under their hats. I know I for one didn't share any news about stock at my local store until I had my own in hand. Kinda selfish, but I'll be damned if I help people only to hurt myself in this regard.
I was actually first in line by a long shot but I brought two extra chairs and let others use them.
Some guy drove by to check on it last night prompting me to get out of my car and take a position. I, in turn, prompted him to take a position. We convinced each other that there was already enough contention to give up our night's sleep, but in reality we were the only ones there until about 7AM. Right around 8AM we suddenly had about 11 people in line for 7 units. If this is any indication, there's still hope for you west-coasters!
Damn man that's nuts. I just had to go to my local store for opening time (10:30am) on a Saturday and I'd have at least been second in line. I got there an hour early and stood there waiting so I could be first, but that wasn't even necessary.
If anyone sees a spare official controller, please grab all you can! I have yet to find one myself. It's really the whole reason I'm here. I plan to remove the controller, replace it with an 8bitdo Retro Receiver and NES30 controller, and keep repurpose the spare controller. Though I'd much prefer to use retail packaged spare controllers for $10 MSRP, that's unobtainium, it seems.
I still have my other one from launch and wanted to keep one to hack and one to mod but now I'm not so sure. It feels like depriving someone else. Should I decide to sell it at least the 8bitdo NES30 and Retro Receiver will be adding value.

Well, the store isn't even open yet and there is already a new line forming of people who refuse to believe the "NES Classic Edition: SOLD OUT" sign. Of course, they aren't actually sold yet since the store isn't open but if someone doesn't come back for theirs with their claim ticket by noon then it's up for grabs.
My local Best Buy had 20, got my ticket, and about to go purchase in a bit. I'm surprised the lines weren't longer after reading about how upset people were that they were discontinued.
Think it's crazy how people are running the hype up on these. Don't agree with Pat NES Punk much but when he said you'll see this on flea market tables for $5 in ten years he may be right?
Just hilarious nintendo is canceling this thing with people lined up around a building even after its sold out with just the possibility someone is a no show.
Sone of it is due to people wanting to make money off it, but there is obviously a stupid amount of demand for a product. Never seen a company do anything like this before. Just turning down money.

Depends. If Nintendo reverses course and responds to demand by resuming production, then they definitely will be on fleamarket tables for $5. As is though, demand could forever outstrip supply, like many other truly limited items.

Think a lot of the demand is a false effect from resellers. You have 2 types of people lining up Monday morning around the corner for a Mini NES. First being the collector or user not looking to pay out the arse for one. Second being the reseller just looking to make a buck. The fact resellers are going to buy up as much stock as possible eliminating stores stock to ensure their sales. So are these selling out because everyone is wanting one or are they selling out because the select few that can't get one will pay extra to have one?
Saw our my best buy stock which had about 10 in stock. I thought about going early this morning to wait in line, but then said why? I have the AVS and plan on getting the powerpak anyways.
Only thing about it which makes it worth buying to me is how portable it is.

So if I'm reading this post correctly, you're not keeping the one you're getting today? If so, does anyone already have dibs on said console?
Because of the flippers i missed out today, oh well
Went about 15mins after best buy opened and natually long gone. Went to target and meijer just to check and target had the classic carry case and literally no sign of anything else.
Welp looks like i don't need one of these that bad.
However both target and meijer had a switch each in stock, and more pro controllers than you can shake a stick at.
Got to my BB at 8:45am and am ~18th in line. But since I have nothing to do till I pick my son up from school in 3 hours, I suppose I can try. Here come tickets.

I didn't word it very well. No sleep, after all.
I want to use the controller for something else entirely (refurbish an original NES with new controller, Blinking Light Win, and Hi-Def NES) but I already have an 8bitdo NES30 to replace it with for NES CE use. The NES30 has extra buttons for SNES and later games, which I hadn't previously entertained because I wanted to keep the launch unit stock. Having a second unit frees me from that mind set. If it's still possible I do intend to get a Famicom version on my trip next month. Other than removing the controller, I'll leave it untouched until then because I will consider selling it if I get the Famicom version.

My guess is that out of the 7 sold 6 will be on eBay tonight.

At one now. Rumor that tickets handed out last night. Hoping it isn't true. What's the sense in that anyways?
If they did that then they should have put up a sign to deter others from lining up.

Confirmed for some stores.
Tickets were given out at 8am in Virginia Beach.

Lucky those able to buy one!
Damn, mine is all sold out. Grab one for me if you can
Every Best Buy in the country has 3 Nintendo Switch games and several dusty shelves where the Switch and Nintendo Mini should be.
Got to my BB at 8:45am and am ~18th in line. But since I have nothing to do till I pick my son up from school in 3 hours, I suppose I can try. Here come tickets.
good luck!
