Cool donkey kong shelf design

Saw this on reddit today. I might want to copy this, or some variation on the idea.

    My personal favorites are the ones with figures. as im a Miniature guy and love Dioramas

    I like it a lot. Although I think it needs some kind of Donkey Kong figure up at the top. The only downside to this shelf would be having to explain to everyone who comes into your house why you shelves are all slanted.

    If I did something like this, it would probably be more like a shadow box (leveled) with a scaled down version of the concept. Neat idea for sure.

    It is pretty sweet but not sure I could go along with it, it isn't really practical as far as space goes.

    I think it is very cool but the unorganized manner in which the games have to be displayed get me a bit anxious...

    Not that big of a fan of it, mainly because it looks like a shelf that's broken.



    Needs to be embellished a bit more. Maybe some graphics or a DK toy or something...

    I agree, but if someone is crafty enough, I am sure they could add grooves for the games to fit into and perhaps add some clear edges on the sides to prevent them from falling.

    This reminds me, I have a HUGE atari 2600 lot I need to sell, I want it gone so Ill probably let it go cheap

    Now I'm kind of torn.  For a small shelf I was going to, I was thinking just wood with a nice finish on it.  Everything tight and fitting perfectly.  Or should I go for something doofy like this?

    You could always make the face of the shelf slanted and have the actual shelf level. Have to agree my OCD would not tolerate this at all.

    Neat concept, but I can't have crooked shelves. Impractical, and an eyesore.

    Maximus clean had a shelf like that I think, but his looked better. That first pick doesnt look like the builder put a whole lot of effort forth.

    Tough to look at actually. Some that Otraotaku were neat. I'd prefer a "less acurate" portrayal of the game/level to get the shelves straight.

    Wow, some cool shelf ideas.

    if I were to do this I'd make level "steps" for the displayed items to sit on, so that they wouldn't be sitting on a slant, only the face of the shelf would appear slanted. The back of each piece would look like a little set of stairs.



    Edit: Simple little concept drawing of what I mean, with stick men representing an Amiibo collection. They could stand level on the "steps", instead of being displayed slanted.

    Maybe for a kids room, but i want my video games displayed the way i want them, on big boy shelves for big boys not doofy dumb dumb monkey shelves.

    Some of these are executed really well. It looks cool but I have to go with the whole inefficient space complaint as well. Still cool though.

    Yup.....it needs more DK aesthetic to it. Gives the impression that one shelf it just holding up the others.
