Manual Scan

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has the manual for Need for Speed Underground 2, for the Gameboy Advance and if they could scan it and send it to me.

  • Hi, welcome to the forums!

If you're needing a manual to complete your game, I've found one on Ebay for $5 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Need-For-Speed-Underground-2-Gameboy-Advance-MANUAL-ONLY-No-Game-GBA-Midway-/361949458274?hash=item5445de6f62:g:fGEAAOSwARZXpRsb

As far as full scans of the manual, it may be difficult to get any help here as this is a collecting community and giving out 1:1 scans of something can be frowned upon since they can be used to make fake reproductions to be passed off as the real thing. Not saying you'd do that, but if you're gonna make one up for a personal use, $5 for the real thing isn't bad compared to printing, ink cost, time, etc.
  • I actually MIGHT have that, I will PM you when I get home from work.

Like Bounce said though, I probably will not scan it but if you want it I will sell it to your for postage cost.

    Welcome to the site.
  • ^ Shoot, I didn't see that he was Canadian, the listing was from the US.

Even better, if Toxie has it, it'll be better to buy from him since he's in your neighborhood. lol So heck, you may even get it sooner than later.
  • Man people are quick as hell to judge. There's hundreds of reasons to want scans from a game manual that don't involve making obvious repro manuals.

Agreed. OP didn't act picky about scan quality or anything either. No red flags here. I use the NA database all the time to look through manuals.

he didn't even say anything about wanting to print it. Even if he did, it's a common cheap manual. Paying to get a quality repro to scam someone will cost you more then buying a real one.
  • ^ People are quick to judge, but with the environment going on around the hobby, who can blame them? I have stated that I'm not saying he would do such a thing, and gave a reason why it'd be better to just get a real one-- IF the intention was to complete a game. I didn't mean to judge that intention but I kinda wanna save the argument in case that was the case. You just never know either way. =\

Of course you can use scans for other things like preservation, paper meche, crafts, or whatever... but it's the "one rotten apples spoil the whole bunch" mentality. You can't just willy-nilly allow complete scans out there and expect people not to do the wrong thing. Supplying something like that can turn into something unethical, unmoral... and overall possibly illegal if you get in the nitty gritty of it.

OP, if it's not your intentions, I apologize. But if there's someone to blame, blame the asshats who use things from this hobby for the wrong reasons.
  • OP I do indeed have that manual...If you want the actual manual it is yours there buddy.
  • Thank you to everyone and your comments.
  • I agree with bounce sorry. If they were to come asking for scans of a dinosaur peak manual, the pitchforks would've been out. It's easier just to say that no scans are allowed here then to try and determine what peoples prerogatives are.

OP, good luck in your search I hope you take up toxie on his offer

I disagree. The guy is new, he asked for a scan of a $5 games manual, that isnt even remotely expensive.  He didnt say a full color higest quality possible scan.  He could be fine with a black and white scan on a shitty scanner. Seems like he just wants to have the manual to use to play the game.  And since when are no scans allowed here?  I have scanned plenty of things to help people out and also posted them, including original kiosk paperwork for people who had the kiosk and wanted to know the ins and outs.  I think people need to relax and stop being quick to judge.  Im sure this dude isnt planning to repro this manual and get rich off it, that isnt possible with this one.

For preservation and historical reasons... HOWEVER, they were put there on the database for those intensions only, and probably way before bootleg reproductions got sexy when there was less worry.

I see it as a moral thing. I can possibly find a scan to something, and tell a person where to get it... but in all honestly, for the reasons I've stated earlier, I find it difficult to help people with that information any more. Knowing that it could be used for something nefarious doesn't sit right for me. It's like I'm contribuiting a possible fake being placed in the hobby or for someone to be scammed by.

yeah, I'm sure they were put there before fakes got popular to make. I just find it weird that we're so worried about a 2 dollar manual scan when Dino peak is available on the site. Really though, theres no reason I can think of not to just spend the 2 bucks and grab a legit one anyway. I don't know, I just thought that was an odd comparison I guess

For this particular game, yeah it would be weird. I think the game even goes for the same amount complete as it does loose. lol

But as a general rule, for the games that do hold a better value complete than loose (desirability comes into play here), it's best to use the scans in the db what they were intended for.

Even for that game that's not something desirable like a cheap $2 manual, it'll cost more in materials and time than to just buy one online from a member here-- so in that case, it's even a better deal.

Thats fine. I changed my mind based on the fact manual scans were already in the database, which I wasnt aware of.
