Strange NES Mega Man PCB

So I got this copy of Mega Man and when I opened it up for cleaning and to check the PCB against images online I can't find another PCB that looks like it. I can't find another photo of this same PCB and I was wondering if anyone else had any information on it...

  • It's not a fake, I can tell you that. That's about all I know though
  • Looks normal to me in my non professional opinion.
  • Does it play mm1?
  • Yeah it plays MM1. What is strange about it is the smaller long chip. In all of the other photos online both of the long chips are the same size. On mine the one on the left is narrow and long and the one on the right is wider and long. It looks official but the fact that I cannot find another photo that looks the same as mine is the mystery.
  • I dunno if it's weird but the Chr chip dated 5 weeks prior to the PGR chips definitely a weird chip
  • There's nothing strange about that Mega Man board. The CHR RAM chip is simply in SDIP form factor. Almost every Nintendo PCB with a RAM socket has support for both DIP and SDIP chips. Whichever package type is used depends entirely on which was cheaper at a given manufacturing time, nothing more.

Thank you. I was not aware of that.
