I hate these things

Sooo over the course of many years I have stumbled upon GameCube collections, which is pretty cool as that's right up my alley. But it seems as though everytime I find a nice lot, it's in the dreaded GameCube disc holder with no manuals or cases in sight. There has been alot of terrible 1st party accessories but this one gets my vote over all of them. Nice GameCube collections without cases and manuals trigger my OCD more then anything. Does this happen to anyone else? Does the curse of the GameCube disc holder follow you along your collecting journey?

I would genuinely like to hear if anyone else consistently has this problem.

  • I don't mind the case, but my reason for getting GameCube games was separate from collecting. I see where you're coming from, though.
  • I hate cd wallets and cases since they pretty much do more harm than good. Every one I've seen seem to attract so much dirt and sand, which should go without saying that they're not good for CDs.
  • What is this "Gamecube disc holder"? Do you mean the custom DVD-style cases Nintendo used? Or something else? How about some pictures up in here...

I was guessing a wallet case? If that's not it, then I dunno either.

  • It's just a super compact way to store a whole collection.

I had my entire Gamecube collection stolen back in the day and I was left with all the cases and manuals
  • I tend to just ignore CD wallets so it doesn't really bother me. It could be full of Snatcher, Pokemon Box, and Panzer Dragoon Saga but tracking down loose boxes and manuals is such a time consuming hassle that it will never be worth my time. Whenever I have a loose disc I usually end up having to sell it and buy a complete copy. I'd rather a cheap wallet of games go to someone who will play them than spend time flipping it.

There's an official zippered disc case that holds 12 or so discs, and then I have an unofficial Nyko hard plastic one that holds a bunch more.

I didn't notice that either was very prevalent though.

Yeah. There's probably a REALLY nice lot out there somewhere without three of those cases clipped together and jammed full of the best of GameCube leading up to 2005.

I added a picture , for some reason it didn't wanna go through that day. But these things are huge pain. Have a nice paper Mario? Disc only. Maybe some Mario parties? Disc old. Zelda? Disc only.. blah blah blah. I could see getting a case for gameboy stuff, but GameCube? Easily sorted and doesn't seem to take as much room.
  • My friend held all his Xbox games in a case like that. Sure made it easy when his house got broken into and they stole all his games

Okay, I see what you're saying. My stance on them still holds then, I just don't like them because over time they can do more bad than good. It is kind of annoying that people don't keep up with their boxes and manuals though.
