Any Japanese Robot toy collectors?

Hello everybody, I pick up a sweet early 60s Television Spaceman tin robot today for $20 and I am happy with it despite areas of rust. However I look on Ebay to see it a pretty pricey and was wondering what would be a good value of it despite of its condition. I will find some batteries to test it but I was wondering if anyone hear is more knowledgable on the subject and can give me info.

  • I would need to do some serious research, I have always liked stuff like that but would have no clue what a cheap toy is as opposed to an expensive one.
  • I believe he is complete. He appears to have both his ears, the face plate, and nothing is broken on his antenna. The antenna is all there but it seems to be rusted pretty bad. It is supposed to be a shinny silver.

You need to check to see if the battery compartment is in good shape and if he lights up and runs. It's hard to put a value on it without that information.
  • Tin toy collectors, for the most part, are some of the finickiest people I have ever dealt with.

If it's not mint, start at around 70% of going price for a mint one and take offers. I'm not really familiar with the rarity of this one, but with my past experience with tin toys, you'll be doing very good if you can pull half of mint value.
