I bought a full 32 piece game console repair kit from Princess Auto a while back for $10, Had both security bits, a few tri-heads, as well as a tool for opening 360's easier, and then a bunch of the regular bits you'd find in any basic screwdriver set
I was tired of my various bits so I bought the full drivers from Console 5. They work great, even on the Virtual Boy! Strangely, I've found three of the smaller ones at a local flea market for $0.50 each. Now I keep one in my car, one in my brother's car, one in the toolbox at home, one in the workshop/accessory building at my mother's, etc. very convenient.
The bits were frustratingly strange and inconsistent. I had two sets of both sizes. For the smaller size, one was tight in NES game paks and the other was tight in Genesis carts. Do some uses one would slip and in other situations the other would slip. It's like they were both simultaneously larger and smaller than each other!
I splurged and bought a fairly big set off amazon, it has everything needed for computers and gaming stuff. I also bought a few spare ones for sega gamegear repair. I went with one that was in the price range and offered a little of everything.
I'm looking for a bit made to open EA Sega Genesis carts as well as some others. It's called a Holt screw. Currently I use a spanner bit (which is used to open things like a SNES power supply), but that can shave the sides of the plastic screw well. I can't find it for individual sale in hardware stores which would cost something like 30 cents. Anyone seen that one for sale?
AtarAge does have this thread on how you can craft your own rickety bit, but I'd like something more solid. Here's the link to that post. You'll need a dremel tool to make it.

If you are dealing with GB/GBA stuff you will need a tri-wing as well.
Then add a small flathead and you'll open everything.
Otherwise, like others have said, get one of each and you will be good to go.

The matte black ones are made from a garbage material the teeth are gone after a couple uses.
