I have not played a single Far Cry game. However, that may now change. This appears to be very well done, and interesting! I'll wait until the reviews come out, but this looks quite promising.
I played Far Cry 3 (maybe 4?) Got bored real quick. Open World games look like garbage now compared to BOTW anyway
So true, especially the shitty open worlds of Far Cry. I just remember Playing Far Cry 3 & 4 and driving through dirt and grass for 20 minutes sometimes between 5-minute missions, and it wasn't even good-looking dirt and grass. Actually now that I think about it I hated those games. Fuck Far Cry lol

Ubisoft just has a massive boner for open world games. Haven't enjoyed any of them really. I almost picked up their open world snowboarding game, that looked kinda interesting, then I remembered it was Ubisoft.
I enjoyed Far Cry 3 overall. I might be blinded by the fact that it was the first game I played on a gaming PC so I was just excited by the graphics. 4 seemed like a huge dlc pack
This new one may grab me again. The concept just seems ridiculous.
Didn't Ubisoft publish Dishonored? That was a fabulous open world game! Only played the first game. Anyway, will wait for reviews and hope they're good.

I personally really enjoyed both 3 and 4 as I'm a big fan of basically any open world game (Although I never did finish 4, I'll have to replay it as some point) so I'm moderately excited for this game. Maybe a little burnt out on radical religious groups after Outlast 2, but it doesn't come out until next year anyways, so eh.

No dishonored wasnt open world, much more linear
Ah, yes. You're right, you went from one place to another, although I liked the fact that in each location you could explore the whole area as you wanted, so in a sense it was psedo open world. I'm not usually one for such stealth games, but I ended up loving Dishonored. Finished the game without killing a single person
I'm down for Far Cry redneck edition. I thought the caveman one looked goofy but I was totally invested in 4. I think 3 and 4 are shining examples of open world games done right.
Is the game accurate? Never really thought Ubisoft would portray people close to Canada and the PNW would be more like the demographic you'd find in the southern states.
Montana is a good place for tourism... You didn't see any out of place Frenchies walking around your neck of the woods, did ya? lol

But the South is a tired and easy target. And geographically we probably offer something that can stand alongside what they were able to do with parts 2-4

Totally unrealistic, not a single character was body slammed in that trailer.
Heh
Isn't that why you're fighting the cult? Because they outlawed body slamming and it's your job to make Montana body slamm again!

In other words, pretty well accurate? lol

Montana is a beautiful state. It's also largely rural, but I'm not convinced it's "worse" than any other state for hate-related groups.

Probably true, not sure where we are per capita.

This hasn't convinced me the series is good.
Never played any of the games, but FC5 might be good or even great. Wait and see
