Selling famicom games

I'm trying to figure out what to do with these famicom games I have. I bought them in a lot for 70.00 a few years back and kept the ones I want. Half of them I can't ID and some are just the original versions of ones we got on the NES. I do have some dragon warriors in the lot. I have no clue how to test them either. I'm going to see if can use an adapter and a 3rd party NES to try. They were marked untested when I bought them. You guys have any advice?

  • Check the product code on the label, search that on Google to ID the games

Watch out for the adapters, a lot of them don't work unless you have a disabled lockout chip on your NES. I'm not sure how well the 3rd party clones work, better off using an original NES.
  • Post a pic.
  • Send a pm to Fcgamer, he would be able to give you good advice OP.

Yeah, lay them out and post a picture. I think a few of us might be able to ID them on sight.

  • If it doesn't have an obvious product code, just type in whatever English text is on the label and Famicom into Google images. I've never seen a FC game I can't ID one way or the other.
  • I got nearly all of them ID'd. Have to break out my nes tomorrow and test them as my retrobit systems just refuse to work with the adapter.
  • Yes if you send me some pics, I could offer some suggestions
  • Some adapters require the game to face backward from the direction you'd expect.
  • Direction in an adapter is not complicated if you keep in mind the NES and FC cart slots and pay attention.

Nintendo's official FC carts have the chips face away from the front of the console. The NES is backwards, chips face the front. If you compare a Nintendo FC and NES cart, you'll notice they are nearly completely mirror reversals, right down to the shape of the cart in relation to the slot.

Most 3rd party FC games (e.g. Konami) have the ROM chips face the front of the cartridge.
  • Welp I got them nearly all ID and looked up the prices but they seem a bit high for common games on the site. You're right I had the adapter and game in the wrong way, for whatever reason on the retrobit I have the game has to be facing backwards.
