*EDIT SOLD !! $1000.00 !!* Any Munsters / lunchbox fans out there? Need help

I'm cleaning up and found this thing. At first I had no idea what it is but I think that it may be an unpressed lunchbox lid.

In the past I've purchased design materials including artwork and unused stickers for both Sonic and Mario lunch boxes. So it is possible that I purchased this from the same seller?

I say possible only because that is the only idea that I have of where this could have come from.

With all that being said can anyone confirm that this is or is not an unpressed lunchbox lid and can anyone help determine if this is anything special and what it might be worth?

It appears you do have an unpressed Lunchbox lid. Unfortunately, I cannot help you with a price. It's very cool, though.
  • Dood that is awesome! I love Munsters. Couldn't even imagine what that would go for.
  • I didn't even realize they had lunchboxes back then, I always thought everyone had a brown paper sack until like 1983. You must have had to have had some pretty big-shot parents to have a lunchbox back in the 60s, like your father probably had to be managing a minimum of 18 employees.

This was my guess as well but I couldn't find an example of an unpressed lid for any lunch box either on ebay or online.

Perhaps I am using the wrong term. Any lunchbox collectors know what these are called?  I'd be curious to see what any 1960s unpressed, uncut or unprocessed lunchbox lid sells for.

Nah, man... the 80's are when we got stuck with the switch to plastic lunchboxes.

  • You're right, I'm looking at the lunchboxes of my generation and they are embarassing compared to the lunchboxes of my parents generation. I had no idea those things could be worth so much!
  • Very cool Adam! I wish I had more to add but unfortunately I don't know a ton about this material. Great image though!
  • I wonder what the hell happened in the middle seats, seems like nobody wants to sit there.
  • Herman would have the seat back as far as it can go.

  • Awesome news on the sale!
  • The Munsters toys are expensive, sealed Dracula with messed up eyes edition sold for $17k sometime last year.
  • you should talk with the buyer and see what he collects that this would draw his interest. if he's a lunch box guy it'd be interesting to know his thoughts on something like this.
