Didnt like the chinese fami converters so i made my own

I bought my first famicom game (gradius II excellent game if you havent tried it) and i didnt have a way to play it. i looked at the fami converters that are from china but i noticed it said it doesnt work with a front loader and i dont trust their cic chip to work corectly anyways...  other option is to get a rare 3rd party converter by honey bee but i didnt want to spend 60 dollers on one. so my final option was to get a gyromite with the fami coverter in it.  only problem is that converter isnt easy to get out and is ugly without a case. so i took the gyromite and cut it down to size and modified the inner plastic so the fami converter wouldnt need screws to hold inside the original platic cartrige.  then i took a heat gun and removed the stickers and took a hack saw and cut it down to size.

Its not quite finished im going to add a permanent fabric ribben to pull it out and im going to paint it gold and smooth down the edges where i cut the cart with a file.  and dont worry even with the famiconverter its not worth much lol.  i only payed 15 dollers for it.

  • Neat! I have a Gyromite converter cart that I think I may use as well, mainly because the cheap ones I got from Yobo don't work at all. :\
  • You destroyed a Gyromite cart?!?!?! WTF MAN?!?!?!?

I'm kidding. Definitely worth the sacrifice to play some sweet imports
  • I almost done this at one time then talked myself into just buying an OG Famicom

I can hear a certain someone screaming all the way from here.

Ever since I got my AVS, I've been getting into Fami exclusives (and Famicom games that are substantially different from the NES counterparts.) I might even get the import badge.

If you havent played Yume Penguin Monogatari, you should.

  • Ooh, looks fun.

    Is he attacking by burping?
  • Not sure about the burping, just thought it was kicking.

Basically your task is to lose weight so your girlfriend penguin comes back to you, after leaving you for a skinnier penguin
  • A fat-shaming Famicom game.

I have now seen it all.

I didn't use the actual cartridges housing, just the plastic piece that you use to yank it out.

Shit, good thing you quoted me again I forgot to post a picture.

I attached it just using an epoxy type glue, super glue would probably suffice as well I think. I used a dremel to remove two little slots on the cart to make the seats for the "game genie puller".

You can see I had to take a little piece of sandpaper to them so they would actually push/pull into the NES a bit better. Gave it a little purple sparkle paint to give it a look as well....Gotta have that.

Nice!   i like the purple sparkles XD  i decided to do it a diffrent way. i cut a slat opening on the botton of my cart with a dremel. i found some old nylon work out equitment buckles and i slipped that though and glued it down inside the cart.  then i painted it with metallic gold paint and rounded the edges with a file where i cut with a hack saw.  the paint is drying right now so ill post a picture when im done with it.
