Who has heard of Richard Dawkins

  • author of The God Delusion vs the host of Family Feud sounds like a good deathmatch
  • I read The God Delusion and it was pretty interesting I was into his theories for a while but I mean, someone going around trying to have these kinds of conversations with religious fanatics or extreme believers is rather redundant.

Makes for good reads or documentaries though.
  • Only knew Dawson from FF.
  • You are in the wrong on this one. Sorry man
  • Richard Dawson is famous from Hogan's Heroes and Match Game, not Family Feud. Shame on you all. I've hardly ever seen an episode of Match Game where the contestant didn't choose Richard Dawson for the final round. He got the Family Feud gig because of his Match Game popularity.
  • Hogan's Heroes FTW!
  • Who loves you and who do you love? Damon!!!
  • Great player.

  • Kevin Smith reference at 3:27, what more could you ask for?

    Lots of cursing, fyi.

  • For sure knew Richard Dawson from family feud.

As far as Dawkins goes I am not sure that he exists.

This is what I was going to say. Mallrats "spin the wheel Richard Dawson" or something (I know he never hosted Wheel of Fortune, this is just how I remember the quote).

Also, South Park did a series of shows which features Richard Dawkins. I think the shows were called "Go God Go", in which Cartman goes to the future, and only Athiest exists in the future.
  • The Running Man.
  • Dawkins has done a lot to spread the whole "Flying Spaghetti Monster" thing and continues using it to argue against religion. There's a good chance most of use would never have heard of FSM if it weren't for Richard.
  • Yes I'm aware of him.

  • Richard Dawkins' books are a real eye opener if you are on the fence about religion.

However; ever since the South Park episodes featuring him, I still see he and Mrs Garrison in bed every time I hear his name - haha.

He's probably a popular guy around those parts

Damn! I forgot about that one !

  • I went to catholic school and was an altar boy, I can assure you it ruined the ideals of religion for me and once I got to high school and heard about evolution, I knew I had been lied to. I mean come on, the bible, it's like a 1000 page propaganda pamphlet. I bet the original had a an advertisement for the local coliseum and another for enlistment in the Roman legion.
  • I know who both are. I'd say Dawkins is more likely to be known today, especially considering the trend away from organized religion in younger generations. Dawson was off tv by the time most of us around here were old enough to remember watching anything. Running Man is the only thing I can remember him in first hand. I known he was an early FF host but I grew up watching Ray Combs. I've never seen hogan's heroes or match game and had no idea he was on those.

I don't know who has the most patience. Dawkins gets attacked by the fundamentalists a lot, but Dawson had to put up with this on a regular basis:

Everyone says Steve Harvey got all the dumb people on FF, but that show had some real brain donors long before he took over.

  • Dawson liked to kiss the ladies on tv. Apparently he was also part of the cast of Laugh In back in the 60s and made a good villain against Arnie in running man. The only people who know Dawkins are those who hate him or follow him, your average person probably hasn't read his stuff.
  • Dawson is the dead Family Feud guy who kissed all the women. No idea who the other is.
  • I'd say most people under the age of 50 would know Dawkins better.
