Congrats Archon! Although I'm mainly a Pal collector, I can acknowledge the rarity of the NES game with the past (and no longer) asterisk. Having said this, I don't normally care if you have a grail or 10, I get more excited when I see someone with deep passion for their collection. More so with your wife and the backstory behind this, it really gives more meaning to why collectors collect, and the joy it can bring when the chips are down. Hope you find even more meaning to the rest of your journey with her.
Correct. But ebay is weird about displaying sale prices when it comes to obo sales. I didn't pay 15.
I wish eBay would put the actual sale price when the game was purchased through a best offer. It would help out with people using eBay completed listings to set prices. Did you go back and forth with seller with best offers or did they accept the first offer?
Congratulations and sorry to hear about your wife's condition.
You can always find the actual prices accepted by plugging the item number into watchcount.com (completed items)

Or on international sites (.ca, .co.uk) when looking up the offer history. Ebay changed their API which broke some features of watchcount (like actual watch counts) about 2 months ago.
