I don't buy Xbox for exclusives. I buy it for the opposite reason. Because multi platform games are best on the block. Seems like the One X will be no different.
XBOX Ones (Original, Slim or the new X) however, you need a "good" interenet connection to update it just to get into it to play it offline to start. It's constantly heavily reliant on those updates, and it won't allow you to access the main dash without a mandatory update first.
Well, that answers my question "will I get an Xbox One"? The answer is an overwhemlimg NO! I refuse to play a system that requires mandatory online connectivity. I feel that's terrible DRM and I really hope Microsoft fails big time. Playstation and Nintendo it is.

That's fucking bonkers to me. Why the hell are your current gen systems not online? What year is this?

I currently have the fastest, and best quality internet that's availabe in my area. Despite that, if I can't play Xbox when the internet isn't working my gaming time would be cut in half from its current state. Allways being connected to the internet isn't an option for everyone.

Internet sucks down where I'm at. Living in Florida, with it being a peninsula, we're not as connected as other states to get good internet. On top of that, it rains like crazy here sometimes, so storms tend to knock out the power/internet/cellphone towers. Generators can run electricity, not the world wide web.
This was also one of the deciding factors of why I wanted to get a PS4, more games, and more options to play on and/or offline with less hindrances. Draconian DRM and tight measures to limit options tend to weigh down a consumer's needs when they just don't have it like the majority.
Again, it all boils down to life style/what you want in a console/personal preference, so I do feel that avatar's opinion on getting one is justified.

Damn brother that is so frogien to me. I'm constantly on the wifi idk how I would function without a strong connection.

before I moved I worked with someone who lived in a nearby town, a small town. He did not have internet at all at his place
It's not a matter of getting connected, it's much more than that. When I purchase a game, I want to OWN the game. I don't want to have to get company approval before I can play it, whether that approval is every day, or every week, or every month, or even once a year. I paid for it, so the hell with DRM!! and that's exactly what Microsoft is pushing, DRM. If people are happy with that, so be it. I will NOT purchase any system that requires online connectivity for non-online games. By the way, I also have no interest in online games. None. I don't care for MMORPGs, fighting games, I don't even care for the Dark Souls online component. I have no problem with those that do, it's simply not for me. So then, why exactly should I have to go online to play any of these games? The answer is I should not.
Also, I'm curious. Consider this scenario: Your home internet connection goes down for a few weeks. Sure, unlikely, but humor me. What will happen to your Xbox which requires online connectivity? Also, what if you want to loan your game to a friend? Lastly, as has been mentioned, what if your friend doesn't have internet connection at all for some reason? All in all, Microsoft has made the decision easy for me -NO XBOX ONE-
Sounds like it isnt the console for you. I would tell anyone that asked me if they have spotty Internet connection at their house then the Xbox one is not a good fit for them.
I have had an Xbox one since launch, and never have had any of the issues that people are always worried about with them for what it's worth.

Technically, I never had a real issue with them either, I mean they do function well. I did have one issue, but it wasn't really hardware breaking. Actually, it was pretty funny. hahaha
I usually have to update XB1s at the shop so I can sell to my customers for those who either have shoddy internet, or want the convenience of playing the system right out the box.
Well, somehow (I don't know how I did it), I activated the voice narrator while trying to update it. You can turn off the narrator only at the dashboard... but you can't get to the dash without updating, and the XB1 couldn't sign in to my internet at the shop (It can find the network, but it's very picky when needing to connect), so I had the XB1 yell out our wifi password to the world. lol
So from then on when updating, I mute the volume and have it wire-hooked in directly to update it.
