When I was in 8th grade I suctioned one of these on my forehead.  I had a hickey for a week.  Not a fun week at school.

Those bracelets that you slap against your arm and they roll up. They were big in the 90's, but they're back... My daughter has one from this era.

Pogs ---- Whether these were a fad or not, I want to add they were a big deal not only in the early and mid 90's, but there was a whole Pog "Milkcap" era in the 70's/80's, and yet again in the late 2000's.

Mad Balls --- loved them, and bizarre enough, they are now for sale again.

Oh and the... THE SOUTH BEACH DIET ! Hahaha! Maybe the Atkins diet too?

crazy bones! Those were awesome. I think I still have a couple at my parents house
  • Hypercolor T-shirts. Everyone had to have one...but the fad died off fast once we figured out how disgusting they actually were to wear.

The shirt changes colour from a heat source...your hand being placed on it for example would turn the shirt from pink to purple where you held your hand on the shirt for a few seconds. This was all cool and fun when we saw it on commercials....untill we wore them and had what looked like everlasting sweat marks and pit stains.

  • I don't remember what they were called, but around 1986 everybody was collecting these plastic key chains. You would buy something like a coiled, nylon coated loop and buy a crap ton of key chains to put on them. Typically they were mini boom boxes, telephones, skateboards, sunglasses and anything else you could imagine. It was all really cheap. You would usually get 5 or so new ones anytime you went to the gas station. You couldn't do anything with them other than look at them. Everyone wanted to have the most and the most cool ones possible. This was about the same time that girls were wearing lace on their wrists like Madonna and boys were rapping Brass Monkey. So I think '86 is dead on.
  • I was big into the pog scene as a kid.

Dog tags were popular at one time, as well as pictures that you had to stare at cross eyed for ten minutes before a blurry image would appear.

I don't pay enough attention, then again I was at the card shop getting MTG cards the other day and there was kids playing it, but you know it is the shitty game because they were playing on a Sunday and the owner wasn't even running the store.
