Old Prices of Retro Games Frozen in Time

I made a purchase a few days ago and these were included. They came from a KMart back in the day. I love seeing stuff like this and figured I would share with everyone. It's interesting how prices really haven't changed all that much compared to current games.

If you factor in inflation, we're paying quite a bit less for new games.
  • I know I've said this before, but if a game is new and has a price sticker, I always leave it on (if I can). I only remove price stickers on used stuff. I actually love seeing old price stickers on stuff from many years ago.

If you factor in Moore's Law, we're not.

We are getting a hell of a deal on Zoop and NFL now! Haha, who would have thought?
  • $69.99 for NFL QB Club. Let that one sink in.

If you factor in Murphy's Law, we get Call of Duty until the end of time.

  • Price dont seem all that different since it would appear that those game prices dont reflect the latest releases.
  • Those would be awesome to have for sure!

    LOL!

  • It amazes me the little thing that we literally cared nothing about back then are now pretty cool to see and hold. As a new Saturn fan, I love the Saturn sticker. 20 year ago, though, I would have paid no mind.
  • Did you obtain a display case?

Very cool, though. The last case I got had several of these along the bottom... Gameboy stuff I believe.
  • Oh wow, that's cool! Love seeing stuff like this! Shows that these stores were open a long time ago.

Not that KMart is dying or anything (at least in New Zealand it isn't,) but any shop stickers are still very cool to have. Almost like preserving the shop's history as well as the game.
  • Some sucker paid $69.99 for Quarterback Club on the N64, rough.

Even worse it was the SNES...which means they paid $70 right before the N64 version came out.
  • I always love seeing stuff like this. Ah, memories.
  • That Saturn Core System would be about $500 in today's money.
  • Looks like KMart got the jump on Nintendo Direct before Nintendo themselves ever did!
