7% of American adults think chocolate milk comes from brown cows

Seriously? Now I know this has been a running gag since the dawn of time but, really?!

I've being having a field day trolling at work with this.

  • Of course chocolate milk comes from brown cows. What are you going try to tell me next, that strawberry milk does not come from pink cows? Sheesh. Someone certainly has you fooled.

    Strawberry milk comes from hippos.
  • People definitely think Yoo-Hoo is milk
  • 7% of the population that we could certainly do without.
  • Did you know that coke is really spider milk?
  • People are so stupid. Brown cows produce chocolate syrup but you still need regular cow milk to make chocolate milk! Dummies!
  • A survey conducted by the United Research and Statistics Unveiling Pertinent Data (URSTUPD) Foundation revealed that 78% of all statistical claims are fabricated and that number rises to 98% when considering strictly online sources.

  • Some people *cough* think that people work like non rechargeable batteries and if you exercise you will use up all your energy and die faster than if you don't move..

I'd say chocolate milk from brown cows makes more sense

    And decrease the surplus population
  • Not related but almost similar, I sat and watched this girl go around to various collages and she would ask basic history questions like who won the US Civil War, from whom did the US gain independence from, be shown a picture of past presidents like Ronald Reagan and not a one could answer them correctly, but she would then ask celebrity questions like who Brad Pit was married to and whom his Xs were and such and those got answered super quick, I swear I seriously hope that shit was actually staged. ...gawd im sounding like my parents.

    Happy lunchtime!

That article accurately reveals the dubious nature of statistical data in even highly regarded studies.

  • That's equivalent to more than 1/2 of Canada's entire population.
  • Are you guys surprised by anything at this point (2017 culture)?
  • Um, white cows give white milk. Black cows give white milk. Bulls give lemonade...

Duh people. Please read the above.

If you still honestly believe 7% of 'American adults' actually believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows, YOU are the people America can do without. It's called an online poll. It's called giving the troll answer.

Yet this CNN article decides to take the results of this seriously and write a viral clickbait article that may as well be titled "Ppl are soooo stupid mirite?!?!?". Too bad it's working.
  • I've seen this pop up multiple times in different website over the past week or two. Every single time, the percentage has been different (one saying as high as 40%). So I don't know how much faith I have in this report other than the fact that it's almost a given at at least some people believe it, so someone made up a report to get clicks.
  • It popped up on the local news that morning and I just happened to find the cnn article on the first search. I just thought it was funny and just ran with it. We're using the term at work now of being one of the 17.3 when something goes awry or make a rookie mistake.

With all the stuff I see on YouTube I don't find this hard to believe.  I wonder if CNN interviewed the "people of WalMart".

LOL nice! I haven't heard that ryme in a while...

  • I think the funnier stat though is that 48% of respondents simply aren't sure where chocolate milk comes from. That's way crazier to me.
