NES games with floods stages ?

Hello my friends,

A close friend is writing some stories about his childhood and today ask me for NES games that include stages with floods, rivers overflow o something related. Could be a specific stage or as an argument in the story.

Must be NES games, the only one I rapidly thaught was Noa´s ark (PAL Exclusive)... lol

Thanks for your help!

  • The Wisdom Tree Noah's Ark game has the flood as the ending screen.

In Batman, you have the sewer stages where you wade through water a bit.

Toobin' takes place on various rivers.

  • The Dam level in TMNT comes to mind
  • Almost every platformer has a token water stage.
  • Konami's Noah's Ark has the water gradually rise up and down and at one point you're a fish and I have no idea what that game even is since I play at 60Hz (so 20% faster) but it's fun and difficult.

Mega Man 4 has two (the only game in the series to do so, as well)!
  • While not exactly a flood, Contra has the waterfall stage.
  • The first stage of Yo Noid features a city that's basically flooded.
  • Mega Man 2 you jump into the water for Bubble Man's stage.

  • Rainbow Islands. If you take too long to finish a level it will begin to flood from the bottom up
  • Stages in Bubble Bobble will fill with water if you get a certain item.
  • Thanks a lot my friends you help him so much!
  • Super Mario Bros. 1 stage 2-2

I don't recall upside down water in MM6.

I'm not sure which Megaman it was. But like there was water on the top half of the screen.. this is going to bother me now which one it was
  • in Castlevania 3 stage 6 and 9 are flooded.
  • In Uninvited, you need to flood a bathroom to reach the upper room (search for bathtub):

  • isn't there a ninja gaiden game with a vertical level that fills with water or lava as you climb up?
  • Nobunaga's Ambition is all about building dams to avoid flooding during typhoons. And some other stuff.

Google image search! I'm drawing a blank, too.

Ooh, I hated those type of levels. I remember playing New Super Mario Bros on DS, there was a stage like that with ascending lava cave in World 8, and it took me forever to beat. Never got the gold coins in that stage either.

That and I never could get that coin in the one with the falling rocks where you had to get a mini shroom then go down a tiny pipe to a bonus maze beforer the rocks destroyed the question block or the entrance pipe. Once I got the coin and died upon exit.

Water stages are annoying but lava stages are brutal. Depending upon the game, some characters also die when they hit water. That bonus shrine in Sunshine where you had to ride Yoshi on the boat to a deserted island and remove the gunk off the pipe, then ride a lilly pad down a river of poison water was rediculous...
