I can drop $500 on some video game boxes and she never has to know that I've done so - it will never negatively effect her. On the other side, she can buy some perfume or whatever the hell it is she buys and I don't have to worry about it. One of us spending money doesn't handicap the other's ability to do so, ever.

I can't imagine how hard it is to get a job with whatever someone pays to give you. It definitely can't be worth it.
