The Official NA Metal Thread
Edit: I guess we're going to change this thread from a hype thread about Wolves in the Throne Room to an all around metal thread. Take note, get hyped, speak hate, and have fun here!

Literally just saw this and haven't watched/listened. Too excited.
Edit: Wow, those drums are awkward as fuck most of the song, ha. Would take some getting used to but nice to see they're back to metal.
Anyone else like black metal? or Wolves?

I was supposed to see them with Opeth and Enslaved but the venue wouldn't let them play
Yeah, somehow I don't think so Zac

How come?
No idea. It was almost 10 years ago
Probably their no lights and candle-lit set stuff. They were supposed to do a show with full lights when I saw them, but I think they were fucking with the venue because the lights kept going out for long periods and there was nothing but candle light.
To be fair... this was after Great White killed a lot of people...
I haven't been able to listen to much of anything anymore since the kids were born. But dammit, I'm loading up the phone with music for work right now. I haven't listened to The Ocean in several years, my god!
This should just be our de-facto metal thread

ABORT, GOD DAMNIT, ABORT.
I was fucking HUGE on them. Precambrian is like the greatest thing ever. Heliocentric was like... arena rock version of them. Not terrible... but it makes you miss the previous album. And the one after that, I never bothered to purchase. Even though I had the special case from Heliocentric to put the next album in so I could align the stars and shit on it. It's a huge let down.
Fuck, maybe you'll like it. Don't listen to me.
I'm fine with having a metal thread. Should I, or you, change the title? I don't mind one bit. As long as we keep the original post as 'Hey! The first WitTR video!'. Not sure if that's how it works here.
Did you get into other sludge? SubRosa, Giant Squid, Grayceon? All great stuff if you've never listened.
Even these hipster asses agree

What about that idea for a metal thread? Can I? Or would I rely on a mod? Like I said, fuck it. I don't care. Let's make a metal thread. It might be my home.
Edit: Grayceon has the cello player (and wife of main Giant Squid dude) in it. Ugh, it's so good. Giant Squid is slightly mellow but hyped? Grayceon is really down beat and relaxing. Until it gets fast and they start screaming. It's not all the time, but it happens.
Edit 2: Fuck it. I changed the thread. LET'S DO THIS. IGN 3.0
New Wintersun is out, fuck everything else.
Time? Or did that mother fucker manage to write and record another album?

Oh I thought the whole thing was silly, but whatever, Wintersun are amazing.
I just remember by the time Wintersun released Time I was over that kind of music. I'll give a few of the tracks a go. What is it called?
It's on the site I sent you, "The Forest Seasons".

fuck yeah dude, I back just about all of this. never really listened to Obscura-played the first 2 Gorguts lps to death tho
ill have to remember to post some stuff later when I'm home
No love for Precambrian? Fluxion is decent but I always preferred Aeolian. I should go back and listen to them again. I still need to give Pelagial a shot.
I've listened to so much Precambrian I gave it a pass for now. Those were albums I had the strongest desire to listen to this week, for whatever reasons

Obscura is sweet. Probably closer to modern tech death bands than stuff like Gorguts, but awesome regardless
NostalgicMachine, you like Necrophagist?
