Everyone deserves to be disappointed by the NES classic.
LOL! Nintendo has been letting me down since I couldn't get a N64 on my birthday in 1996. The NES classic was just a painful reminder of the experience.

I remember the struggle to even find an original NES back when it was newer. My Dad finally grabbed one at Montgomery Ward or some other weird dept store.
Most of these will still be snatched up by scalpers, judging by the number of $350 Switches all over CL, eBay, etc. If you go through the effort to spend $325 (inc tax) to make $25, then you will have no issue dropping $65 to sell a system for anything north of $80.
I wouldnt worry about that at all.
Seriously though, I was hoping this would be enough to get people to stop bitching about it, but I can see I'm already wrong about that.
Maybe one day I can walk into Walmart and see the NES Classic in the electronics department. What a fantasy!

LOL. Love this. ^^
I can't tell you why not getting a NES Classic or able to preorder a SNES Classic was such a big deal. I own all the NES Classic games, most of the SNES games and could just pop them in at anytime. But it sure would be cool if I had both of those beauties on my shelf
My wife last x-mas tried to console my failure of not receiving a NES Classic by purchasing the Sega version....it just was not the same
But it sure would be cool if I had both of those beauties on my shelf
Shelf collector!

I keep wondering if anyone would wanna buy the box from mine. I kept the box and inserts, and it's on my shelf, but feels kinda weird to me. I don't usually keep the boxes from consoles.

Back in the day, if you didn't put it in the basement, you tossed that shit.
Now that boxes are as valuable as what came in them, it is a dilemma.

Yeah my parents always threw out our game boxes. Looking back it's a damn shame (lookin at you, Snow Bros and Zombie Nation). Rebuilding my collection CIB has been a fun and expensive journey lol. Happily the NES Classic has kept me from jumping on the more expensive stuff, and helped me to keep looking for deals while I play the games emulated for fun.
They messed up and took the 3rd party controller as an extra standard controller so they paid alot for it. So they switched the 3rd party as the controller with the overpriced system and selling the real controller for 60 bucks.
The console has no box by the way. Just a loose emulator box with a 3rd party controller for 200 dollars.
I knew nintendo would do this. Been saying it all along.

So, if I'm reading that correctly, they are asking $200 for a CONSOLE ONLY, NES Classic with a $3 third party controller? I hope they enjoy their new permanent display piece for the store.

Hehe...
Yeah, I'm happy with my AVS! If I saw an NES Classic for $50 would I purchase it? Well, maybe. I certainly wouldn't pay $200+ as some people have.
Oh, and a big middle finger to all those resellers! I hope they all get stuck with TONS of NES Classics and will be unable to sell them!!! By the way, if you go on ebay you can find NES Classic-like systems with 600+ games. Hmmm, makes you wonder whether Nintendo could have added just a few more than 30

Yes because their dumb inventory system doesnt account for things like boxes or condition. Wouldnt trust those dumb employees with it anyway.
but yeah some idiot took in a 3rd party classic controller as the real one which is 60 dollars. So tgey switched it with the system and selling it for 60. Console only with 3rd party controller . 200 dollars

Yeah, that's high, even before the announcement that more are on the way. I understand not wanting to have skus for "with box" and "without box," but I would think that this is an unusual case where they could put a manual discount on the thing to sell it. I mean, it's not like they are ever going to have lots of these in the store at once.

Well my official NES Classic is modded to have every single NTSC game, as well as some PAL and Famicom games, so...
Hmmm, makes you wonder whether Nintendo could have added just a few more than 30
Given all the licensing involved, probably not. At least not at $60.
A random hacker adding tons of games is different from a multi-national company adding tons of games.

This in the reason right here.
