Recently added this to the collection, wondering if anyone can provide any evidence of origin/what promotion this might've been a part of? Did some digging and can't really find anything..

I think I remember store promotions offering a free nintendo cleaning kit with a new purchase here and there. A couple years into the NES it was becoming obvious of the design flaw and robustness of the slot design and these kits were usually very cheap and pushed down customers throats like the VCR head cleaner kits and CD Laser lens cleaners

Yeah, but isn't this the later version? The SNES version had versions with and without Mario too.



I seem to recall hearing about Nintendo sending NES kits to people who complained but I doubt they'd call them "promotional." Wish I had contacted them back in the day because mine was BAD.
