  • Burger King would have won, but they changed that recipe back in '09. I still remember where I was that first time I tasted disappointment. Shame.
  • Arby's clearly curly fries dipped in Arby's sauce
  • Why isn't Rally's/Checkers on here?
  • If we're going with fast food, McDonald's is the way to go for French fries.
  • Yeah McDonald's all the way.

I been sayin that since the late 90s. They used to have double fried french fries when I was in high school. Best fries ever. Of all the fast food places, BK seems to change their recipe most often.
  • McDonalds fries are the best when you get em fresh from the fryer.
  • McDonalds, only because I can still eat them when they're cold (which oddly I prefer for many foods). Otherwise, for hot fries I'd have to go with Wendy's.
  • Mickey D's, yo.

Thank you. They're the most microwave-tasting fries ever now. They used to be really good in the 90s.
  • BK has the best fast food poutine, but McDonald's fries solo are better
  • Five guys seasoned fries are pretty dank!
  • I was really surprised by the poll results, I always thought they were the absolutely worst then again I am a big fan of thicker cut fries.
  • Love McDonalds fries, but then I completely forgot about Jack in the Box curly fries. So good!
  • Arby's all the way.

Sometimes I'd rather have Checkers/Rallys fries, though.

For "standard" fries, McDonald's is usually the best.

I can't understand the love for Five Guy's fries, though.

There is nothing special about them, at all, IMO, other than that they give you a full bag of them.
  • In N Out for sure. The only fries I really like. McDonalds fries are disgusting, sour greaseballs.
  • Arby's curly fries
  • Curly fries are the best kind of fry but I despise Arby's (long story), so they're out and I don't recall another fast-food chain that offers curly.

  • Five Guys for sure. I want to walk past the bags of potatoes ready to be slaughtered before I eat my fries.
  • Anyone ever heard of Runza? Yummy Fries among other things!
  • McDonald's by far.
  • in and out animal fries for sure. otherwise jack in the box bacon and chese curly fries or McDonalds
  • Checkers/Rally's
  • There must be a lot more Checkers/Rallys in other parts of the country; I know of maybe one in a ten mile radius, and the nearest other one is in a 500 mile radius. I haven't bothered to stop at either in years, but people do seem to drive long distances for fries.

Although In N Out is still best, I actually don't mind BK fries. Jack in the Box and Wienerschnitzel are ok too. Anyone care for Jollibee
  • McDs fries if they are fresh, same with Arby's and Burger King. I also have a fondness for KFCs tater wedges.
  • Five Guys has garbage fries.

I'll go with McDonalds, as long as they aren't bathed in salt

I really like In N Out's fries.  Though I don't think their burgers are in my top 5 FF burgers.  I also don't care for animal style.  Honorable mention goes to Red Robin's steak fries with their fry seasoning.  Very good.

I've never once eaten at Red Robin. Actually didn't know they were a thing until I moved to Texas. Steak fries with fry seasoning does sound pretty awesome, though.

Been a long time since I've had them, but they are pretty good.
