Anyone else find authentic snes not for resale demo cart's!

I have recently paid for a official Nintendo product that's unlike the average one out there. It has it's own label code and I know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone knows I lucked out at all. I stopped off at a donation place and decided I'd change my mind and see what I'd get for my stuff at a video game store. Over there I have found out my junk to me was $212.00 Canadian. I knew I had gained much trade value so I got a cool 'Contra III: The Alien Wars' cartridge paid $18.00!

  • Does it have a stamp on the back?
  • Very cool. I've come across a couple NFRs in the wild and added them to my collection for next to nothing.

    Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run

    Stunt Race FX

Just lucky the seller in each case didn't think it was anything special.
  • Wow, someone was selling it for that much at a store?

That's cool you were able to trade and get it cheap. That one definitely sells for more than a hundred at a minimum, so it is a deal for you.
  • Which store was this in?
  • Congrats playa, and welcome to NA

There were several not for resale SNES titles.  They aren't all that rare but they aren't common either.  Here's a link with some info.     I should of never sold my new condition half dozen NCAA Basketball NFR's ~10 years ago.  I only kept one.

FYI, $212 CAN is way too much for this...

You said he paid too much and then cite something written in Feb 2013?  Was that supposed to be some sort of joke?

Gamevaluenow has Contra III NFR at $210 US dollars.

  • Thanks 'CHEETAMEN II' for the knowledge of its worth I will be keeping it around to own and play!

Says right there on the cartridge.

    Not for resale.

    These should be free !

  • I always avoided NFRs since I wanted the "real" game. I'd drive across town and sometimes even pay more for the normal cart. Ah the mistakes we make...

lol! I did the exact same thing when I was first collecting. I could have had almost a full set without even knowing what I had. Oh wel...
  • I got a DKC one from A CD Tradepost in Topeka, Kansas for $7.99 in like, 2012 or so.
