Debate/Discussion: Looking forward, what unreleased/non-localized titles do you think we may see in
Ok, sorry for the ridiculous title but after viral success of the NES Classic and now the SNES Classic's release, I would think it's safe to say that if Nintendo is smart they will likely continue to release some of these small, specialty devices preloaded with awesome, classic games.
Though we can't tell the future, many have speculated that in a year (or possibly two) we might see an N64 classic. Alternatively, I could see Nintendo releasing classic devices that aren't shaped/branded like older systems but simply contain 20-30 games or maybe even a $50 device intended for downloading games for specific emulated devices.
Regardless, I think the future is wide open for the release of more titles this way and since Nintendo gave Star Fox 2 some love, what games do you speculate or hope that will either re-translate for release in regions other than Japan or, maybe, might actually finish and release formerly unreleased titles.
My list:
Earthbound (NES) - We all know the US version was basically complete. It just has to be released.
Doshin the Giant - A N64 DD game released in Japan. Why not release it on a Classic console? I've always been curious about this game considering it being a N64 DD title unique to the DD, I'm curious about experiencing a pseudo-realistic experience, just in English.
Final Fantasy V (SNES) - This one is for me. It's already been released for the GBA and countless other platforms, so translation work has long been done. I'd just really love to play this on an "official" ROM that's translated and intended for SNES hardware. This could also be true for FF II and FF III for the NES. But, I've never played them so I'm not sure how interested people would be in those.
I'm sure there are countless other, official Nintendo games and third party titles that may need just a little extra work for release. What games do feel could very likely be released on a new classic console?

Comments
After seeing how talked about StarFox 2 is on the SNES Classic, I'm genuinely surprised that the NES Classic didn't include Earthbound, since that would have been a really easy one for them to pull off.
Agreed. I honestly can't believe how short-sighted Nintendo was on how well the NES Classic would sell. I mean, after 35 years of gaming business, certainly they have employees, even in management, who love their company and brand and could have tipped them off that at least the American market was going to eat it up.
Still, I think the only reason why we got SF 2 is because the NES Classic proved that this was something worth sinking money in and distributing with specialty software.

doshin the giant was the only 64DD game to be released on another console, Gamecube to be specific (Japan and Euro only). It's a really updated port though, almost like a remake.
Why do you say doshin the giant and nothing else from the 64DD? What about F-Zero X expansion kit, the Mario Artist games and SimCity 64?
It's brilliant. Make it happen, Nintendo.
The Color TV-Game 6 Classic. Nobody knows what that is, so the demand would be down, and anyone that does know what the heck I'm talking about can get one easily.

I don't know what this is, I don't want to ask a cold hearted machine like google, so do share.

It was a small console that Nintendo made back in the late 70s. Had stuff like Pong and some other sports games on it and was only released in Japan.

I can imagine plenty of localisations that never materialized in the US. Star Fox 2 was an exception as far as unreleased-but-finished games go, though. I'm trying to run through my mind anything else that was known to be finished but unreleased and coming up empty. Mother 3 would be nice for an N64 mini, but they never finished that one.
N64 mini needs Dinosaur Planet, or Eternal Darkness, whichever is possible.

I was literally coming here just to type those two games! I believe that Dinosaur Planet was further along in production for the 64 than Eternal Darkness was, so there is probably a close to finished build of that game locked in the Rareware vaults... Either one would be fantastic though!

It's Nintendo's pong system, exclusive to Japan... 1977 I wanna say?
Edit: didn't see bounce already responded

I don't think Rareware ever finished any of their unreleased N64 games. Plus with Rare being a Microsoft company and all now I'm doubting we'll ever see them working with Nintendo again. Hopefully that can change since their Rare Replay videos showed that they keep a good archive of their past work.
