  • Too much potential for being scammed...good example was the TSCRAN group and the NWC cart last year. Too shady for me, but I know some people "win."

For sure the sellers win.  Many getting 2-3-4x's amount what they would normally get for the items.

It's illegal gambling. Only a matter of time before Facebook cracks down. And yes they have logs of everything.  It's both illegal for the buyer and seller.

  • Best to avoid them completely.
  • Hell no. Stay away from scumbags who run that BS.

Make friends with the guys who run them so they send you the prizes. I found that's the easiest way to win.

Works every time! Every "winner" I've ever talked to has told me "the admins are great guys...and...this group's not like the other 'rigged' wheel groups.". Haha

    Basically a pyramid scheme
  • One interesting example is this: around 3 weeks a guy that want sell all his SNES CIB Games and create a group,

One of the raffles is Chrono Trigger CIB SNES in really mint condition for:

    35 tickets at $10 a piece = $350

PLUS! he create two "minis" (the winner get tickets in the main LOL)

    30 spots @ $2 each (MINI) = $60

    50 spots at $2 a piece (MINI) = $100

so! at the end he collect $510 for the game.
  • Yeah no, definitely never trusting these.
  • There are easier ways to gamble small time without getting scammed by some illegal lottery. Trade options, bet on horses, PredictIt.org. Those raffles always have terrible odds too.

Ahhhh you mean Kingkoswyn's grey NWC he successfully raffled in April. What did you find skecthy about that? Just out of curiosity, I didn't have any involvement with the procedure. Both Ryder (the winner) and Dave, both NA members (I think) were paid to fly and meet Kingkoswyn in person for the handoff. They even made a whole video about it, Richard took them out and did stuff together the entire day. As far as the randomization process, it was done through a 3rd party website that offers verified livestreams for a monthly subscription.

The only sketchy part I thought was when an NA'er found his (Kingkoswyn) bosses email and said he was "laundering money" and "scamming". But I mean, he was photoshopping all the users / admins that were making fun of him. So blood for blood I guess

  • throughout all the Facebook groups, there's hundreds of raffles that go on every week. Are they all scams?

Damn, that must mean one of the NA admins that raffles his games must be a scammer too

No, the TSCRANVGAT one was in 2015 and was clearly a scam.

Kingkoswyn runs a different gamewheel, but he's friends with the dude who scammed Pheidian with the fake F2.

I don't genuinely believe they are ALL scams. The problem is, how do you know which are and which aren't?

However, Illegal, yes. They're all illegal.

Yup, that is the one I am referring to.

Yep, hard to tell which are on the up and up. Some have had shills that claim they won, while others do the long con and award some legit prizes, and then scam on a big ticket prize (TSCRANVGAT did both.)

You're okay with being a part of scamming people?
  • They are all crooks and scumbags. I dont give a fuck if they are na members or not, they are dirtbags if they are involved with this type of shit.

Ohh, the 2015 TSCRAN with Quoc. Wasn't sure which NWC raffle u were talking about.

To be honest, I didn't really follow the dialouge Kingkoswyn had with that whole situation. So I can't give my speculation, but you're not the first member to say that.

I'm just glad Phedian got his $$ back, and Kingkoswyn was able to accurately document what happened to antiscam..

Compare paying someone with Paypal FF. If you don't know/trust someone, you generally don't send them an unsecure payment. They might have poor shipping standards, not ship till next year, flat out scam you, ect..  Or if you're dealing with community members you've seen are active daily with solid feedback/friends, you might be ok with your Sqoon CIB.

If someone like Matbeep started a wheel page, I would have zero problems trusting him with payments. Just as I would have no doubts sending him payment friends and family. But if christian Muth started a wheel page? I might look elsewhere.

Of the three downhill raffle experiences i've heard of, all three of those pages were shutdown. Even Retro Paradise (David Kim's page) was shut down, and his F2 scam through a false paypal claim wasn't even involved with the raffle.

Comparative to all the sour trades and transactions that have happened over the years, members just need to be cautious. It's the same principle as ^^

Nah man, the wheeler takes those spots out of the main and restructures them into a mini. They don't get more money for doing mini's. It's just a different way to play. I know it's confusing.

In your example, I believe the wheeler took out 16/35 spots in the main. They would reward those 16 spots to the people who win the mini's. So because the wheeler took those spots out, they cannot be bought. Those 16 slots are paid for by people playing to win them in the mini's.

Off topic, but $350 for a truly mint Chrono Trigger fully CIB is a good wheel price. Don't they sell for that easy in private sales?
  • As a rule of thumb regarding online trading, if it's easy to scam then there will be scammers. Only participate if you have more legitimate trust than doubts. No different to eBay purchases with dodgy sellers, really.
  • I think is $510, see pics: https://imgur.com/a/WvwFX

by the way, it seems all groups use this: https://www.random.org/ they record live the contest lol and show the winner.

I'm curious to this one as well.
  • I personally don't play wheels. Never have. As far as those who do. A fool and his money are soon parted.
  • Wheels are so damn stupid. Just a clever way to get 4X the amount for an item by getting people to buy into your illegal gambling ring.

This shit is taking over now too and it is annoying as fuck.

Even the action figure FB group i am in, Ageless Geeks, now has people doing raffles all the time for action figures. Everyone is doing it now because it is such an easy way to make more money, and people love gambling so they always fill up.

But if people want to gamble their money, then good luck to them. But i have no interest in being part of it.
  • Ive seen a whole bunch of SNES minis "raffled" on IG, 25 spots at 20$ each lol. Basically selling an 80 mini for 500$

Do you have proof its an NA member that did that?

And unless you have all the info, I would suggest you be cautious about who you accuse of what.

While they may not all be "scams" (in that participants are not necessarily being screwed out of the chance to win that they think they are buying) they ARE all conducted illegally.

I would never recommend somebody do one, or participate in one, for that reason alone, because it is a matter of time before the hammer comes down on that stuff.
