Good morning everyone. I have a AV modded NES top loader that I needed to get repaired if someone on here is able to do this. I am posting for a co worker.

yeah. we think it is the board, so we didnt know if someone could look at replacing the board or test it? We know that the system worked before. When he did the AV change, after he added the board now no sound nor no video.
Sounds like the mod is not installed correctly or was built incorrectly. It's also possible that the NES was damaged. Do you have any pictures? I would be willing to take a look at it and get it up and running for you.
he thinks either board or he soldered something somewhere he shouldnt. If someone can give me a quote on how much to fix i can let him know, and get it shipped out. Thank you guys for all your do.
Bump for Monday. If someone can quote me repair costs i can send this over to him and get this sent out to someone. 99% positive its a bad board, so we would be looking to replace the AV board since RF is gone. Thank you.
The problem is it's hard to quote repair costs without seeing what repairs are needed. If there is no board damage and you just need the A/V circuit replaced, that's not going to be expensive at all. However if there is board damage, the cost depends on the amount of work and any parts involved in repairing the damage.
If you want a guesstimate I would post up pictures, otherwise without seeing anything I'm going to say start at $50 plus shipping. Price may go up or down from there. Like I said, I am happy to look at it and get it up and running for you. But I don't know what I am getting into.
So my best guess from your pictures is that you have a short in one of your connections, your jacks are wired wrong, or there is an issue with the retrofixes board. No matter what, it's most likely fixable. If you are interested I will happily take a look at it. If all I have to do is fix a connection or something like that, then call it $10 plus the shipping. If the retrofixes board is bad, I might be able to replace the component or I can just replace the board, but that can be decided after we see what's up. If you want to send it in to me, let me know. I will get you fixed up.
Just as a follow up to this thread. 8bithustler shipped the console to me and it ended up being a dead PPU.
Familiar. My brother diagnosed 2 systems from a local flea market game guy. One had a bad PPU and the other had a bad CPU...so he's got 1 working system out of it anyway

we believe that it is the AV board that is bad on it. If someone can repair and test. It was working prior to the soldering so we are thinking board.
