Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut Original Cart. & Manual Price Check

Hey guys, I'm brand new to the forum here.  A friend of mine was over recently looking through some of my old Nintendo games and made me aware that the N64 Clay Fighter Scupltor's Cut I had was a rare N64 game.  I remember buying this game from my local Blockbuster after owning the original Clay Fighter game and getting a kick out of it.

The game is fully functional.  I also have the original manual that came with the game.  It is a complete manual, so it is not missing any pages.  Unfortunately it didn't come in a box when I bought it from Blockbuster.

The cartridge has a Blockbuster label on the back and permanent marker on the front from Blockbuster as well as from my Mom's incessent need to label my games with my name when I was younger.  I did some research on the forum on how to remove the marker, but I didn't want to attempt it yet.  I thought I would get your opinions on if I should remove the marker myself or let whoever ends up purchasing the game tackle that issue themselves.  Attached are photos of the cartridge and the manual.  Any help in determing the price of the items would be appreciated, thanks!

  • The manual is worth more than the cart, but i'm sorry to not be more help than that.
  • Condition issues will limit your pool of buyers, but I'd say $1000-$1500 for the pair together. I'd expect it to be an "easy" $700+ with lots of people willing to bite there.

Thanks for your help!  Do you think I should remove the marker or leave it on the cartridge?

I would leave it; let the buyer remove it as it's easy enough for them to do.

  • nice find. Id leave the marker personally, let the buyer figure it out...some even like the "history" of the stickers and markings.

Value wise I agree with Jone and would have said 1K for the pair.

Leave it as is.  You won't be boosting the value at all by removing it.  If anything it helps legitimize the cart to buyers who are scared of purchasing counterfeits.

  • Welcome to NA and thanks for sharing this!! Very cool.
  • sweet. agree 100% with everyones reasoning as far as leaving it alone

potential buyer may like that sort of thing or if not will have no trouble cleaning it up themselves.

also is it just me or have these things been popping out of the woodwork like crazy lately?

This. Not make fakes with blockbuster stickers on them.

  • I'm glad I asked you guys before doing anything to it. I will leave it as is. Thanks!
  • i bought a Sculptors Cut a while back that was dirty and had plenty of black marker on it. IMO it helped convince me the cart was real. The BB sticker is even more solid proof.

Cleaned it up easily enough. i could easily sell it for more than i paid due to being in nicer condition.

i was happy, the seller was happy. i say leave it.
