SNES "France '98 Coup Du Monde?"

Label is peeling off, shell is off-color (not terribly abnormal), shell is North American style with screws... but this game doesn't seem to exist for SNES.

It's not terribly close to me to check for curiosity's sake.

Curious on the history on this cart.
That one found at a convention looks to have rusted screws, so is it something older?
huh... pretty wild that two of these surface around the same time. Definitely look like different copies.
I believe its a Hack Repro cart. Open it up and take a look at the board. That will be the tell all.
Yeah, but I'm guessing it was made during the life of the SNES in Mexico or Brazil or something. IOW, a vintage '90s bootleg as opposed to a modern repro/bootleg.
Yeah, it's 1.5 hours away so opening it would require a commitment. It's still interesting but the value of such a bootleg is unclear and there's nothing else there to justify 1.5 hours and $45.
Is there a ROM dump of this floating around? I'm on my phone and can't check the set ATM.
I've only seen the FIFA one floating around ("Coupe Du Monde" means "World Cup", and there's a FIFA En Route Pour la Coupe Du Monde 98.), not sure if it's the same though.

I would say it has little value. But hard saying. You know theres some collector out there wanting it! :-)
didn't someone on here just pick that up at a convention?

Observant AF!!! Well done.

agreed on this. It looks to be in better condition than some of the other SNES bootlegs out there, though. I have a copy of "The Grinch" (actually Whirlo) that's in absolute shit condition. Likely worthless, but I'd never sell it.

Awesome! I'll check out the thread when I get the chance, but did the OP ever open it up?
Yeah, looking at the sloppy-placed back label and the texture, that alone leads me to believe it's a bootleg... but it's nothing I've seen before. That one found at a convention looks to have rusted screws, so is it something older?

SNES was popular for a bit longer in Central/South America so there was incentive to bootleg later releases. Probably a vintage bootleg.

It may not be a terribly uncommon bootleg even though I've never seen it. Reminds me of Crime Busters being super-common in Brazil even though it wasn't dumped for ages.

Well, my googling before posting turned up a lot of FIFA 98 and an N64 Coupe du Monde with the same label art so FIFA World Cup was probably localized that way somewhere and then bootlegged for interested regions that possibly didn't even get an official release (or they would have bootlegged that).
