Ninja Five-Oh! Factory Sealed / Dead Mint

Hey all,

I have a sealed Ninja Five-Oh that's very, very mint, no scratches or imperfections to the wrap. Looking for advice on if getting it VGA graded is a good idea / would raise the price, or if I should sell it as is. I'm thinking it would be at least a 90.

The VGA grading may raise the price, but you'll have to wait for the turnaround time each way and it would likely be a tougher sell. Or, if it is as Mint as you say, it should be a fairly easy sell at a slight market premium based on condition. If you are just going to sell I'd probably sell it as is.

Your call man, VGA grading is about the most polarizing subject we talk about here. You won't get a group concensus, because some buyers avoid graded (and therefore exponentially more expensive) games like the plague, while others (sealed collectors with one or both feet in the business side of the hobby) swear by it.

Thanks Jone, wasn't sure what the current consensus was on VGA grading. My only experiences were with PS1 / PS2 era games, and it seems like I only really got my money's worth when the grades came back at 90 or higher. I'm really not in much of a rush to sell, and since it looks like it's become the GBA grail, I might go with the grading.

Didn't I buy a first print Xbox 360 DeadRising VGA 85+ off you several years back?  Still have it btw.

You could ask clr2k his opinion, as I believe he owns a VGA 95 of Ninja Five-0.

Haha yup, I think you did! I stopped opening new games but still kept buying them around 2004, keeping them sealed and renting them or borrowing copies from friends to play. I had most of the PS2 grails new/sealed from the store. I think the highest grades I had was a Lunar SSC and Persona 3 that came back as 95s, I think both ended up selling to Pooch for crazy amounts, is she still around?

Haven't seen her in a long time, and don't recall her excessive buying for at least a couple of years.  We all grow old and only the strong survive
