Super Mario All Stars Player Choice Label Info
Hello just needed some quick help. If the label says made in Mexico, is that a fake/repro label? If so, looks like I got one. Was in a hurry and at the same time the auction was ending soon and didn't bother to look closely at the photos. Thanks.

I have always suspected the factory in Mexico eventually started making the late Majesco releases and reprints.
Lots of legit games are made in Mexico. Example, some DKC2 say "made in Japan" while others say "made in Mexico." Not sure about All-Stars, but I assume lots of popular games were made in both places.

I think it has more to do with Majesco providing those services for Nintendo as a silent partner to save money even before Majesco started publishing and re-releasing games on their own. Of course, they made them to Nintendo's specifications (in contrast to their own published/republished games), hence, the back labels and full-page color manuals instead of the molded backs and cut-down B&W manuals. It looks like they also did it for Sega: I have Taiwanese, Japanese, and American versions of Sonic the Hedgehog and the American version has all the hallmarks of a Majesco release despite being a full case from much earlier in the console's life.
